This HAZLOC power distribution system provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480V AC power from a variety of sources within classified environments. This portable substation is suitable for Class I, Division 2 applications, with a fully encapsulated C1D2 transformer and load center. This power distribution system is configured to transform 480V to 120V. This unit provides an effective HAZLOC power distribution system for operators performing plant turnarounds, maintenance, equipment installations and any activities requiring an alternative to native power sources. This portable transformer is designed to operate with 480V, three phase, 60 Hz which it then steps down to 120V AC 60 Hz. The power distribution system on this portable substation makes 120V AC available via eight explosion proof 5-20R 20-amp, 125V GFCI protected receptacles. Description: The EPMGL-480-15KVA-120-8X120.20A portable power distribution substation converts three phase, 480V AC electrical current to single phase 240V and 120V AC via an encapsulated Class I, Division 2 15KVA transformer (480V-3P to 120/240V-1P 60Hz). 20` of 10/4 SOOW line-in cable is included to connect the substation to a primary 480V primary power supply. A Class I, Division 2 30-amp disconnect switch provides primary line-in protection and supplies primary power to the 15 KVA transformer. Secondary current is wired to a 120/240V, 40-amp GFCI breaker for circuit protection. Connection for 120V AC is through eight 5-15R/5-20R 20-amp, 125V, explosion proof receptacles with spring loaded covers. The transformer is potted and the entire system is built and certified to UL 1640 and UL 1203 standards. The transformer and load center/distribution assembly is mounted to a powder coated aluminum, dolly cart style, frame resulting in an extremely stable, durable, and mobile power distribution platform. Two run-flat rubber tires and a dolly cart style mounting platform provides easier substation mobility, and a center point lift point allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This temporary power distribution solution can be modified to meet the needs of job-site receptacle requirements. Units are available up to 150 KVA, and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted. Applications: This power distribution system is NEMA 3R rated and ideal for indoor/outdoor use and applications including but not limited to; construction sites, plant maintenance, plant turnarounds, shows, exhibits and shipyard operations.
