Flat Panel Light
LED Flat Panel Lights Retailer
Panel lighting is designed for both residential and commercial applications. This type of lighting fixture is made to replace conventional fluorescent ceiling lights, and designed to mount on suspended grid ceilings or recessed ceilings.
LED panel lighting delivers a smooth and flawless wall of illumination without visible bulbs or hot spots.
Their versatility allows them to be mounted on numerous surfaces and used in multiple applications. Whether you want to replace your existing T8 fluorescent troffer light fixture or start a new construction project, panel lighting is an innovative and energy efficient alternative.
Our bright Edge-Lit LED Panels offer even light distribution and add a great look to any commercial or residential space. It’s ultra slim design is perfect for under cabinets or any low ceiling area. For better, non-glare lighting, replace traditional fixtures in a kitchen or bathroom with flush fitting, edge-lit LED panels. LED lighting is included with fixture, offering up to 50,000 hours of LED life (that’s almost 45 years).
How does LED panel lighting compare to traditional fluorescent or incandescent light bulbs?
Acrylic Light panels are much more durable than your traditional light bulb and longer lasting. LED panel lights can last up to 17 years, assuming usage is around 8 hours a day, while an incandescent light bulb or fluorescent light will only last a fraction of that time. Compare CFL's vs. Halogen vs. Fluorescent vs. Incandescent vs. LED
They come in a variety of brightness and wattage, which makes them great for kitchens, hospitals, offices, gyms, schools, and so much more. Although LED light bulbs seem to be all the hype right now, commercial contractors are moving towards LED panel lighting for their sleek and modern look.
LED Flat Panel Light Energy Savings
LED lighting can really move the needle in reducing the consumption of electricity for your building or facility. If we look at specific wattages, a typical 2x4 fluorescent troffer light can utilize up to 160 watts per fixture. If we examine the same fixture utilizing LED technology instead, we see that the same fixture utilizes between 30 and 50 watts per fixture. This results in a 50% to 80% reduction in cost savings just by making the switch to LED.
To put this in dollars, by converting your lighting to LED you could save up to $81 per fixture, per year in energy costs alone. Depending on the size of your facility this can really add up over time.
Lighting Maintenance Cost Reduction
The way LEDs generate light and progress through their functional life results in a much longer operating life compared to conventional fluorescent troffer lights. LED troffer lifetimes range from 50,000 to 150,000 hours and can have up to a 10 year manufacturer warranty.
Since LED light fixtures are not negatively affected by frequent on/off cycles, maintenance costs are reduced in those environments when the LED ceiling lights are used. For a typical warehouse lighting or commercial lighting space with multiple 2x4 LED troffers, end users can expect to realize up to $2,952 in maintenance cost savings over the course of three years.
Upgrading to LED can help you cut up to 80% on your energy bill. Flat panels have been extremely popular choices in offices, retail facilities, basements, and even garages. They are particularly ideal for replacing in-ceiling troffers, and they come in many common grid sizes like 1x4, 2x2 Troffer, and 2x4. New technology has allowed for edge-lit flat panels to be thinner and more versatile than ever, down to a half inch for some models.
Edge Lit LED or Direct-Lit LED
Similar to LED shop lights, there are two distinct options for flat panel design, edge-lit or direct-lit. The difference between the two is where the light source is located on the panel. Both have their positives and everything stems from the location of the LEDs.
Direct-lit fixtures have their light sources at the back of the panel and when installed they look practically identical to an edge-lit panel. When the fixture is not mounted you will be able to see the light source on the back of the fixture, adding a few inches to the thickness. It is because of this housing that direct-lit panels cannot be surface mounted to ceilings or walls. They are a bit less expensive per unit, reducing your investment.
Edge-lit panels have their LEDs in an aluminum or metal housing around the outside of the fixture. This allows edge lit fixtures to be much thinner and more versatile in installation. The light from the LEDs is passed to the middle where it then interacts with a lens which redirects the light to the surface of the light fixture. The light created is very even, smooth and has such a broad area, it is often said that it will not create shadows.
