Made in Texas The Larson Electronics MPD-25KVA-480-10X120.20A temporary power distribution system converts 480V AC 3-phase current to three phase 120V AC and 208Y AC 60 Hz. This power distribution system provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480V AC power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power. This portable substation is suitable for outdoor applications with a fully potted transformer and NEMA 3R load center, and 1/8" walls to prevent children from accessing the unit. This power distribution system is configured to transform 480V to 208Y/120. This unit provides an effective power distribution system for operators performing plant turnarounds, maintenance, equipment installations and any activities requiring an alternative to native power sources. This portable transformer is designed to operate with 480V, three phase, 60 Hz which it then steps down to 208Y/120V AC 60 Hz. The power distribution system on this portable substation makes 120V AC available via (10) 5-20R 20-amp, 125V GFCI protected duplex receptacles. Description: The MPD-25KVA-480-12X120.20A portable power distribution substation converts three phase, 480V AC electrical current to three phase 208Y/120 AC via a 25KVA transformer (480V to 208Y/120 3PH 60Hz). 25` of 6/4 SOOW line-in cable is included to connect the substation to a primary 480V primary power supply. A 60-amp fused disconnect fused with two 60-amp time delay fuses provides primary line-in protection and supplies primary power to the 25 KVA transformer. Secondary current is wired to a 120/240V, single phase, 200-amp load center with main breaker for circuit protection. 120V line out protection is provided by ten 20-amp, 125V, single pole breakers. Connection for 120V AC is through receptacles mounted on the side of the load center. Receptacles include ten 20-amp, 125V, GFCI waterproof duplex receptacles. The load center is rated NEMA 3R, the transformer is potted and the entire system is built and certified to UL 1640 standards. Unlike many portable power distribution boxes made of plastic and utilizing thin gauge, low grade metals in their construction, this unit is designed for serious use and is ruggedly constructed to withstand demanding conditions and heavy duty industrial applications. The transformer and load assembly is mounted on a 3/16" thick carbon steel mounting platform and the load center/distribution assembly is mounted to the standard 2" x 2" x 1/8" square carbon steel tubing frame, resulting in an extremely stable, durable and well protected power distribution platform. 1/8" metal sides prevent children and unwanted personel from accessing the load center. This model is equipped with forklift skid pockets, locking polyurethane casters, and a top located lifting eyelet which allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This can be replaced for an additional cost with stainless steel, hot dip galvanized steel, or aluminum depending on the customer’s needs. Larger units are available upon request and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted. This temporary power distribution solution can be modified to meet the needs of job-site receptacle requirements. Units are available up to 150 KVA, and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted. Applications: This power distribution system is NEMA 3R rated and ideal for indoor/outdoor use and applications including but not limited to; construction sites, plant maintenance, plant turnarounds, shows, exhibits and shipyard operations.
