The Larson Electronics THM-12-LEDP10W-40ET LED Emitter on Telescoping Pole is ideal for a wide variety of uses including: equipment, vehicle, military, law enforcement and industrial manufacturing applications. This portable LED lighting system can be raised up to 8.5` and retracted to 3` for seamless storage. Capable of producing 3,440 lumens of light in a spot or flood beam configuration, the telescoping pole-mounted unit comes with a 16-foot cord and trailer plug connector. The THM-12-LEDP10W-40ET is a powerful elevated lighting solution for outdoor locations. Capable of extending to 8.5 feet and collapsing to 3 feet, the pole-mounted LED light produces 3,440 lumens of bright light while drawing only 40 watts @ 3.35 amps from a 12V DC electrical system. Four CREE XLamp MC-E¨ ten watt LEDs producing 860 lumens each are paired with high purity optics to produce a 20-degree spread spot beam approximately 450’ long by 75’ in width. We also offer floodlight versions with a 40-degree beam spread to provide more light over a larger area nearer the fixture, making flood versions ideal for use as work lights. These pole-mounted LED light bars are waterproof to 3 meters, sealed against intrusion by dust and dirt and very ruggedly constructed to withstand the most demanding environments, conditions and applications. The IP68-rated units can withstand rapid temperature changes of -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius. The housing is formed from extruded aluminum and the lens is unbreakable polycarbonate. The CREE XLamp MC-E¨ LEDs offer resistance to shocks and vibrations and are rated at 70% lumen maintenance after 50,000 hours of use. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life. LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps. PWM Control: The pulse width modulation drivers in this unit provide secondary benefits through the ability to tap into a provided input wire with an external pulse generator and adjust the duty cycle of the current being applied to the LEDs. Thus you can connect an external dimmer, switch or pulse control and adjust the perceived output of the light, effectively causing the light to flash, dim or brighten to the desired levels. Additionally, this method of controlling light output results in a corresponding drop in amperage draw, so if the duty cycle is cut back to 50% there will be a matching 50% reduction in amperage draw. These units are also able to monitor and adjust input current to maintain the correct LED voltage levels regardless of input levels across a specific range. As part of the LEDP10W series, this light bar can operate on current ranging from 9 to 46V DC without any modifications necessary as a result. Choices for the connector include: 4-Pin Flat, 4-Pin Round, 6-Pin Round, 7-Pin Round or a 7-Pin Flat connector. Pole Mounting: The LED light is mounted to an adjustable telescoping pole that is designed to be mounted to any standard vehicle receiver hitch. Once attached, the mount is then equipped to securely hold the telescoping pole. Users can simply slide the bracket mount into a standard receiver hitch then slip the pole into the bracket and lock it into place. Once positioned the aluminum pole can be collapsed to 3 feet and extended to 8.5 feet. The top of the pole is fitted with an aluminum mounting plate and adjustable bracket, which holds the LED light and provides flexibility. By loosening the two thumb bolts located on either side of the light, the operator can adjust the positioning angle of the unit as far as 270 degrees. Then he/she would simply have to tighten the thumb bolts to lock the angle in place. No tools are required for adjusting angles. This pole features a pneumatic braking system that prevents unexpected or sudden collapse of the pole. If the pole is loaded with a pair of heavy fixtures for instance and the operator inadvertently releases the locking tabs, the pole will simple ease down gently rather than suddenly collapse. This is a great feature when mounting expensive electronic devices and you`d like the added security of knowing there is no chance of serious damage should the pole be released. This adjustable mounting pole is ideal for vehicles as operators can mount this to their receiver hitch and elevate lights up to illuminate the vehicle and surrounding area. By elevating the lights this high, they can eliminate casting and glare while better illuminating a larger area.
