Under normal conditions this emergency lamp uses normal external power to illuminate its two 10 watt LED lamps. In the case of power outages or in any situation where power is interrupted, this unit automatically switches to a battery backup which will power the unit for 90 minutes or until power is restored. Once power is restored a built in charger will return the unit to a fully charged state within acceptable UL time limits.This explosion proof emergency lighting fixture carries an integral maintenance-free, sealed, high temperature Nickel-Cadmium battery backup power supply. When external power is cut due to outages or accidents this lamp automatically switches to its battery backup which will power the LED bulbs for 90 minutes. The battery is protected from deep discharge by solid state circuitry which senses low voltage and turns off the unit before battery damage can occur. This emergency light is multi-voltage capable and can operate with voltages ranging from 120V to 277V@ 50/60HZ. This unit`s housing and LED light fixtures are constructed of copper-free aluminum that is epoxy powder coat finished to protect the aluminum surfaces. The EXP-EMG-12W-2L-HBMN can withstand temperature variances ranging from 0¡C to 40¡C and its low maintenance design offers up to ten years of operational life. An integrated pilot light indicates the presence of AC current and a test switch allows easy confirmation of proper emergency operation.LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation.
