The Larson Electronics SPLED-IND-PED-WS-24.24-8X-MS-DF-M1 Pedestrian LED Crossing Sign enhances pedestrian safety and is ideal for parking lots and sidewalks. The dual-sided crosswalk sign measures 24"x24" and leverages eight strobe lights for illuminative notifications, when movement is detected via two motion sensors. This unit is a 100% remote system powered by a solar panel. Color choices for the LED beacon include amber, red, white or blue.

The SPLED-IND-PED-WS-24.24-8X-MS-DF-M1 offers illuminated safety for pedestrians. Reflective material on the dual-sided yellow/black sign ensures visibility, when viewed from different angles. Measuring 24"x24", the unit features eight LED strobe lights on the sign for visual warnings. Four LED strobe lights can be found on all sides at the front and four LED strobe lights on all sides at the back. Strobe light color options include: red, blue, amber or white. Two motion sensors sense movement as far as 50 feet away from the front or back of the sign.

LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life.

LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps.

Power/Wiring: This unit is 100% remote, powered by a solar panel. The 30 watt solar panel recharges the battery in 5 hours with direct sunlight. As with all solar powered equipment, charging time is affected by the amount of available ambient light. When ambient light levels drop below a certain level, such as on very cloudy days, the unit will not recharge.

The solar panel is weatherproof and designed to catch the maximum amount of sunlight possible when properly mounted. The motion sensor will activate the light upon detecting movement within range of the panel and keep the light on for 15 seconds after detection.

A sealed lead acid battery pack is contained within the solar panel, not the crosswalk sign. The mounting apparatus is designed to allow a variety of mounting options including flat surfaces such as a wall and square or round pole mounting. The crosswalk sign is connected to the panel by a 10 foot 16/2 SOOW cord that provides flexibility for positioning of the solar panel and sign into their respective optimum locations independently of each other.
