Made in the USA The Larson Electronics MGS-25K-480V3P-10C Heavy Duty Power Distribution Substation converts 480 VAC electrical current to single phase 120VAC and 240VAC. This power distribution system provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480VAC power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power. This distribution substation is suitable for outdoor use and NEMA 3R rated. The MGS-25K-480V3P-10C portable power transformer system provides a safe and reliable way for operators in industrial settings to tap into and utilize power sources independently of the work area. This unit provides an effective power distribution system for operators performing plant turnarounds, maintenance and cleaning in hazardous areas, equipment installations and repairs, and any activities requiring an alternative to native power sources. This portable transformer is designed to operate with 480v which it then steps down to 1ph 120 VAC and 1ph 240 VAC. The power distribution system on this portable substation makes 120VAC available via eight 20amp, 125v GFCI protected duplex receptacles and 240 VAC available via two 30amp, 250v, twist lock receptacles. Description: The MGS-25K-480V3P-10C portable power distribution substation converts 480 VAC electrical current to single phase 120VAC and 240VAC via a 25kva transformer (480v to 120/240v, 1ph, 60hz). 25ft of #4 SOOW cord is included to connect the substation to a 480v, 3ph primary power supply and a fused disconnect, main on/off switch connects the primary supply to the 25kva transformer. Secondary current is wired to a 120/240v, 1 phase, 100 amp main breaker load center for circuit protection. Distribution is through a branch circuit comprised of eight 20 amp, 125v breakers and two 30 amp, 250v breakers. Connection for 120-240VAC is through receptacles mounted on each side of the substation. Receptacles include eight 20 amp, 125v GFCI duplex receptacles and two 30 amp, 250v twist lock receptacles. The load center is mounted within Nema 3R enclosure for protection against accidental contact, rain, sleet, and snow. The transformer is mounted on a 1/8” thick diamond plate mounting platform and the load center/distribution assembly is mounted to the standard 2 inch square carbon steel tubing frame resulting in an extremely stable, durable, and well protected power distribution platform. Integral 3" X 6" X 3/8" rectangular tube, carbon steel skid pockets provide forklift access, and a top located lifting eyelet allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. Applications: This power distribution system is ideal for indoor or outdoor use and applications including but not limited to, construction sites, plant maintenance, plant turnarounds, hazardous location operations, shows, exhibits, and shipyard operations. These power transformers are popularly used for HAZLOC applications where external power sources are often necessary and work well in combination with explosion proof lights and equipment.
