Made in the USA The Larson Electronics MGS-25K-480V3P-4X120-4X250-2D Heavy Duty Power Distribution Substation converts 480 VAC three phase electrical current to single phase 120V AC and 240V AC and includes two disconnect switches. This power distribution system provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480VAC power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power. The MGS-25K-480V3P-4X120-4X250-2D portable power transformer system provides a safe and reliable way for operators in industrial settings to tap into and utilize power sources independently of the work area. This unit provides an effective power distribution system for operators performing plant turnarounds, maintenance and cleaning in hazardous areas, equipment installations and repairs, and any activities requiring an alternative to native power sources. This portable transformer is designed to operate with 400A/480v 3ph which it then steps down to 1ph 120 VAC and 1ph 240 VAC. The power distribution system on this portable substation makes 120VAC available via 4-15/20amp, 120v GFCI protected duplex receptacles and 240 VAC available via 4-20amp, 250v, twist lock receptacles. Description: The MGS-25K-480V3P-4X120-4X250-2D portable power distribution substation converts three phase, 400 amp, 480 VAC electrical current to single phase 120V AC and 240V AC via a 25kva transformer (480v to 120/240v, 1ph, 60hz). 25ft of 4/O cord is included to connect the substation to a 400A/480v 3ph primary power supply and a splitter box feeds through to the two disconnect switches. The first disconnect is a 480v, 3ph, 40amp fused disconnect providing protection for electric motors up to 15 hp (480v 3ph 60hz) through 40 amp fuses. The load side of this disconnect switch is hardwired to a 60amp, 480v, 3pin/4wire pin and sleeve receptacle. The second disconnect is a 480v, 3ph, 300amp fused disconnect providing protection for electric motors up to 150 hp (480v 3ph 60hz) through 300 amp fuses. The load side of this disconnect switch is hardwired to a 400amp, 480v, 3pin/4wire pin and sleeve receptacle. Secondary output is wired to a 120/240v, 1 phase, 125 amp load center with main breaker for ciruit protection. Distribution is through a branch circuit comprised of four 20 amp, 120v single pole breakers and four 20 amp, 240v, 2 pole breakers. Connection for 120-240VAC is through receptacles mounted on each side of the substation. Receptacles include four 15/20 amp GFCI duplex receptacles and four 20 amp, 250v twist lock receptacles. The load center is mounted within Nema 4/12 enclosure for protection against accidental contact, rain, dust, splashing water, and sprayed water. The transformer is mounted on a 1/8” thick diamond plate mounting platform and the load center/distribution assembly is mounted to the standard 2 inch square carbon steel tubing frame resulting in an extremely stable, durable, and well protected power distribution platform. Integral 3" X 6" X 3/8" rectangular tube carbon steel skid pockets provide forklift access and a top located lifting eyelet allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. Applications: This power distribution system is ideal for indoor or outdoor use and applications including but not limited to, construction sites, plant maintenance, plant turnarounds, hazardous location operations, shows, exhibits, and shipyard operations. These power transformers are popularly used in HAZLOC applications where external power sources are often necessary and work well in combination with explosion proof lights and equipment.
