The Magnetic Utility Light is one of the original Larson Electronics designs of a twelve volt magnetic spotlight. The lamp housing is secured via positioning brackets to the top of a solid polypropylene handle. The handle has a magnetic base with over 100 pounds of gripping power. Combined with a 6 inch lamp and 3.25 inch magnetic base, this light configuration is counterbalanced for easy handheld use. More importantly, users can easily move from handheld use to vehicle or equipment mounting, since the handle system does not preclude simultaneous use of the magnetic mounting base. These particular units produce a flood beam that emits a beam approximately, 70`L x 50`W. These units are mainly used as a temporary work light illumination for small areas. The dimensions are measured by the person`s ability to read a book in the area at hand, for example, this unit will allow you to read a book within a 70`L X 50`W area. Larson Electronics offers alternative spotlight setups for this unit such as the MUL-2, MUL-3 and the MUL-4 Spotlights. These units produce a long and narrow beam that goes out several hundred feet, length depends on the particular MUL model purchased. The solid polypropylene handle is 4.5 inches tall and 1.75 inches in diameter and will never soil, decompose or require replacement. The chrome dipped light housing effectively dissipates heat while providing weather protection for the toggle switch, lamp and lamp wiring harness. The unique design of the light housing enables continuous use in the most inclement weather conditions without risk of corrosion or damage. The magnetic light is ideal for semi-permanent mounting on ferrous metal surfaces.
