This power distribution system provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480VAC power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power. This portable substation is suitable for outdoor applications, with a fully potted transformer and NEMA 3R load center. This power distribution system is configured to transform 480V to 120/240V. This unit provides an effective power distribution system for operators performing plant turnarounds, maintenance, equipment installations and any activities requiring an alternative to native power sources. This portable transformer is designed to operate with 480v, 60hz which it then steps down to 120/240 VAC 1ph. The power distribution system on this portable substation makes 120VAC available via (3) 5-20R 20amp, 125V GFCI protected duplex receptacles and 240VAC available via (2) 6-50R 50amp, 250V receptacles. Description: The MGL-15-480-3X120.20A-2X240.50A portable power distribution substation converts 480VAC electrical current to 120/240VAC 1 phase via a 15KVA transformer (480V to 120/240V, 1PH, 60Hz). 10 feet of #8 SOOW line in cable is included to connect the substation to a primary 480V primary power supply. A fused disconnect provides primary line-in protection and supplies primary power to the 15 KVA transformer. Secondary current is wired to a 120/240V, single phase, 100-amp MLO load center with line out protection provided by three 20-amp, 125V, single pole breakers and two 50-amp, 250V, 2 pole breakers. The load center is rated NEMA 3R, the transformer is potted and the entire system is built and certified to UL 1640 standards. The transformer and load center/distribution assembly is mounted to a powder coated steel, dolly cart style, frame resulting in an extremely stable, durable, and mobile power distribution platform. Two run-flat rubber tires and a dolly cart style mounting platform provides easier substation mobility and a center point lift point allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This temporary power distribution solution can be modified to meet the needs of job-site receptacle requirements. Units are available up to 150 KVA and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted. Applications: This power distribution system is NEMA 3R rated and ideal for indoor/outdoor use and applications including but not limited to; construction sites, plant maintenance, plant turnarounds, shows, exhibits and shipyard operations.
