These hammers are hard faced and either aÊmachinist or engineer type. They will have aÊpolished striking face on one end for strikingÊpunches and chisels and a polished hemisphericalÊball peen on the other end for use in riveting,Êshaping, and straightening unhardened metals. The handle can be made of wood,Êplastic, fiberglass or metal and may or may not be covered by an additional gripÊfor comfort. It is the hammer of choice when making gaskets or driving driftÊpins.
