These hammers are hard faced and either a machinistÊor engineer type. They will have a polished strikingÊface on one end for striking punches and chisels andÊa polished hemispherical ball peen on the other endÊfor use in riveting, shaping, and straightening unhardened metals. The handleÊcan be made of wood, plastic, fiberglass or metal and may or may not be coveredÊby an additional grip for comfort. It is the hammer of choice when makingÊgaskets or driving drift pins.
