Made in the USAThe Larson Electronics SPLEDB-3-100C Solar Powered LED Beacon is an innovative lighting solution suited for applications requiring a high visibility strobing beacon capable of standalone operation.This continuous operation capable solar powered LED beacon (strobing) light produces a brilliant strobing flash that is visible for distances of up to one mile. A 3.6 watt LED strobe light is powered by a 8aH sealed lead acid battery that is automatically recharged during daylight hours by a 30 watt solar panel. The 12 watt solar panel recharges the battery in 5 hours with direct sunlight and can power the beacon for 15 hours with a full charge. As with all solar powered equipment, charging time is affected by the amount of available ambient light. When ambient light levels drop below a certain level, such as on very cloudy days, the unit will not recharge.This unit is for night time operation, and will not be visible during the day. For a day time visible solar powered lamp, please check out the SPLED-CL1B-M.The solar panel is weatherproof and designed to catch the maximum amount of sunlight possible when properly mounted. The mounting apparatus is designed to allow a variety of mounting options including flat surfaces such as a wall and square or round pole mounting. The beacon is connected to the panel by a 100 foot 12/2 SOOW cord that provides flexibility for positioning of the solar panel and beacon into their respective optimum locations. The sealed lead acid battery pack is contained within the solar panel, not the light.This solar panel can be equipped with either a day/night sensor and a motion sensor or with an on/off switch. The day/night sensor is programmed to activate the solar panel in the evening and to shut it off during the day while the motion sensor will activate the panel upon detecting motion. The on/off switch will activate and shut off the solar panel according to the operator`s preferences. The operator can switch between modes with a toggle switch. The beacon consists of an LED lamp that draws only .244 amps while producing a strobing flash that is visible for up to one mile. The LED beacon is available with either a permanent mount base or a magnetic mounting base that houses a 100lbs grip magnetic for secure attachment to metallic surfaces. The SPLEDB-3-100C beacon is available in white, blue, green, amber or infrared (859nm-940nm).Additional options:Further options include larger batteries and different lights, additional mounting options and different length connecting cords.
