This 240-watt unit features two, 4-foot fluorescent lamps that offer 254 nm germicidal UV-C light. The luminary caters to side-mounting installations and operates on 120-277V AC, 50/60 Hz. *Please note: This product produces UV light. Consisting of two, 48" fluorescent UV lamps, the 240-watt unit offers 254nm UVC output with a wavelength range of 200nm to 280nm. Radiant intensity is 240 uW/cm2 per lamp. This UV fixture operates on 120-277V AC, 50/60 Hz (ballast voltage) and features a G13 medium bi-pin cap base. The UV lamps contain an 8,000-hour useful lifespan. This UV system DOES NOT produce ozone. The UV light's housing is constructed of 304 stainless steel, with zinc-coated hubs. A durable PEF coating makes the lamps shatter resistant and provides protection from impacts. Should the bulb break during an emergency, the internal contents and glass will remain trapped inside the unit. This coating adds an extra layer of safety for workers and customers alike. UV radiation from the unit can damage the skin and eyes without proper protection. Operators should avoid exposure to the eyes and skin when the unit is unshielded (for use in enclosed environments only). In the event of lamp breakage, it is recommended to ventilate the room for 30 minutes and clean the area with gloves (not a vacuum cleaner). Contents should be stored in a sealed plastic bag and brought to a waste/recycling facility. Mounting/Wiring: The IND-MER-LP-SS-48-2L-UVC features a side mounting system. L-brackets on the housing facilitate a low profile side mount, making it suitable for installations in tight spaces. Power connections to the UV unit can be completed via two accessible, threaded wiring hubs (1/2" or 3/4"). Note on Environment: Sunlight and visible light fixtures do not impact the effectiveness of the disinfecting on this UVC sanitation product. Metal halide, high pressure sodium, fluorescent, and LED light fixtures can be left on. The UV radiation emitted from this product is not disrupted by any type of lighting in the environment. Put simply, NO it DOES NOT need to be dark in the area you plan to disinfect. The UV radiation is harmful to the eyes and skin, and that is why you should not be in the area while it is in operation.
