This 40-watt unit features one, 4-foot UV fluorescent lamp with shatterproof coating, housed in a 304 stainless steel housing. The luminary caters to corner surface mounting, operates on 120-277 V AC, 50/60 Hz, and is equipped with a motion sensor. The IND-EV-SS-48-1L-UVC-V3-MS runs continuously as long as it has power and only shuts off when it detects the movement of passengers. For best results, combine 2-3 of these fixtures inside each elevator car. *Please note: This product produces UV light. Click here to learn more about UVC and the corona virus* The IND-EV-SS-48-1L-UVC-V3-MS is a fluorescent-based continuous UV lighting system for elevators requiring effective sanitation or disinfection. Consisting of one, 4-foot fluorescent UV lamp, the 40-watt unit offers 254nm UVC output with a wavelength range of 200nm to 280nm. Radiant intensity is 117 uW/cm2 per lamp and total UV output is 11.78 watts. This UV fixture operates on 120-277V AC, 50/60 Hz (ballast voltage) and features a G13 medium bi-pin cap base. The UV lamps contain an 8,000-hour useful lifespan. The UV light's housing is constructed of 304 stainless steel, with zinc-coated hubs. A durable PEF coating makes the lamp shatter resistant and provides protection from impacts. Should the bulb break during an emergency, the internal contents and glass will remain trapped inside the unit. This coating adds an extra layer of safety for elevator passengers and maintenance crews. UV radiation from the unit can damage the skin and eyes without proper protection. Operators should avoid exposure to the eyes and skin when the unit is unshielded (for use in enclosed environments only). In the event of lamp breakage, it is recommended to ventilate the room for 30 minutes and clean the area with gloves (not a vacuum cleaner). Contents should be stored in a sealed plastic bag and brought to a waste/recycling facility. Motion Sensor: The IND-EV-SS-48-1L-UVC-V3-MS is equipped with a microwave motion sensor for an additional layer of safety while the unit is in use. Due to the potential harm UVC light can cause to a person's skin and vision, it is unsafe to be near the light while it is powered on. To avoid accidental exposure to the UV light produced by this elevator light, it is equipped with a 360¡ motion sensor. When the motion sensor detects movement inside the elevator car, it will power off the light. When no motion has been detected for at least 5 minutes, the unit will power back on. This component is capable of sensing through thin materials (it does not need direct line of sight) and effectively covers 12' x 12' areas. Mounting/Wiring: The IND-EV-SS-48-1L-UVC-V3-MS features a corner surface mounting system that allows the beam to project at a 45¡ towards the ground. Operators may use two L-bracket mounting brackets (located on the rear of the fixture) for secure installations. The brackets both have a 45¡ bend that allows the fixture to be angled downwards during installation. Combine 2-3 of these fixtures in each elevator car for best results. Power connections to the UV unit can be completed via two accessible, threaded wiring hubs (1/2" or 3/4"). Note on Environment: Sunlight and visible light fixtures do not impact the effectiveness of the disinfecting on this UVC sanitation product. Metal halide, high pressure sodium, fluorescent, and LED light fixtures can be left on. The UV radiation emitted from this product is not disrupted by any type of lighting in the environment. Put simply, NO it DOES NOT need to be dark in the area you plan to disinfect. The UV radiation is harmful to the eyes and skin, and that is why you should not be in the area while it is in operation.
