This unit uses two T8 UVC lamps that provide 26.6 watts of total UV output during UV treatment. Designed for 2x4 troffer mount installations on ceilings, the UV air purifier operates on 120V AC and is protected by 304 stainless steel enclosure. ***PLEASE NOTE: UV-C light can cause temporary or permanent loss of vision, and temporary acute redness or ulceration (mild to severe sunburn) to exposed skin. To prevent exposure, do not operate the device in any application that allows UV-C light to be visible during operation. NEVER LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE BULB OR DISINFECTING TARGET ZONE. DO NOT touch bulb with bare hands. The oils in your skin will damage the lamp. Fingerprints will result in reduced performance and significantly reduce the lifespan of the lamp unless they are removed with alcohol. Equipped with two T8 UVC fluorescent lamps, this system offers 26.6 watts of total UV output, within the 200nm - 280nm UV-C range (254 nm peak). The lights have an expected lifespan of 8,000+ hours and emit a flood beam pattern inside the unit. The UV chamber has a polished surface to maximize light distribution during UV treatment. Constructed of 304 stainless steel, the UV lights are enclosed inside the unit preventing UV exposure in occupied areas. An interlock safety switch ensures automatic disconnection of power to the system when the access panel is unhinged. Operation: Surrounding "dirty" air is drawn into the UV purifier via filters. The "dirty" air passes through the UV sanitation chamber where it is treated with UVC light using the two T8 fluorescent lamps. The disinfection process kills up to 99.9% of viruses, bacteria, mold, spores and other harmful microbes. Clean sanitized air exits the chamber through a louvered exhaust panel and is released back into the environment. This low-maintenance air disinfection process is continuous and quiet. Mounting: The IND-AHC-TRF-2X4-UVC-R1-120V is compatible with 2x4 troffer mount installations on ceilings. We offer models with surface mount features for installations on ceilings without tiles or grids. Note on Environment: Sunlight and visible light fixtures do not impact the effectiveness of the disinfecting on this UVC sanitation product. Metal halide, high pressure sodium, fluorescent, and LED light fixtures can be left on. The UV radiation emitted from this product is not disrupted by any type of lighting in the environment. Put simply, NO it DOES NOT need to be dark in the area you plan to disinfect. The UV radiation is harmful to the eyes and skin, and that is why you should not be in the area while it is in operation.
