For proper protection and to maintain HAZLOC approval, matching twist lock plugs should be used with this unit’s power receptacles. This unit is of a modular design and is suitable for indoor or outdoor applications. These reels are built with modular components, coupled with a spark proof ratchet and hazardous location slip ring housing. The cord feeds onto the steel reel assembly through a 4 roller adjustable cable guide with a ball stop. This reel includes an integral spring actuated ratcheting mechanism for positive cord management housed within the explosion proof threaded slip ring enclosure. This cord reel is assembled to UL 508 table 36.1 / NEC Standards and conforms to NEMA 9 and NEMA 4 (IP56) standards as well.Click Image to Enlarge Click Image to EnlargeThis 20 amp rated tool tap is ideal for operators seeking a high quality, wet area rated power receptacles suitable for use in industrial and manufacturing applications. This unit`s power receptacles are constructed of copper free aluminum and the housing is malleable iron. The units are factory sealed and any arcing is safely contained with the interior of the receptacles. The receptacles are configured for use with 125V (5-20R) or 250V (6-20R) explosion proof cord caps.The receptacle contacts are deep recessed to avoid accidental contact and will not be energized by non explosion proof plugs to preserve explosion proof protection in hazardous environments. Ordinary location plugs will NOT activate this explosion proof receptacle. The iron housing is finished in a triple-coat zinc electroplate, chromate and epoxy powder coat while the receptacle is finished with an epoxy powder coat. This unit is designed to withstand wet and corrosive conditions such as those found in docks and shipyards and comes with a spring loaded receptacle door to prevent ingress of water and contaminants when the unit is not in use. An EYM seal off and complete the Class 1 Division 1 rating on this explosion proof tool tap.This explosion proof tool tap is ideal for use with drop lights and tools in locations where connection to fixed receptacles is unavailable or impractical, and safely extends the operational range without creating the hazards associated with excessive cord lengths strewn about the workplace.
