Made in the USA The Larson Electronics EPL-SL-2-LED Explosion Proof String Light set is UL Listed Class 1 Division 1 Groups C and D and is ideal for general close work and inspection activities in hazardous locations requiring explosion proof protection. Click here to see the Incandescent version of this light This explosion proof string light set from Larson Electronics contains a total of two 10 watt work lights equipped with aluminum hooks and connected in series along 20 feet of 12/3 SEOOW explosion proof cord. A molded T junction is mounted every ten feet, with 3 feet of 14/3 SOOW cord connecting a single drop light to the backbone. The cord on this unit is terminated in a Class 1, Division 1 explosion proof plug for complete protection. With this arrangement, each drop light cannot spark if pulled apart or dragged. A 10 foot tail section of main SOOW cord is included to allow ample length for connection to power sources. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current applied and emitting light. With LED lights, there is no warm up time or cool down time before re-striking and provide instant illumination when powered on, adding to the reliability of LED technology. By nature, LED light sources run significantly cooler than traditional lamps, reducing the chance of accidental burns and increased temperatures due to heat emissions. This solid state design of light emitting diodes provides a more reliable, stable, durable, and energy efficient light source over traditional lighting. Safety within the workplace is another benefit of LED work lights and temporary lighting. All light sources produce heat. With traditional work lamps, such as incandescent and halogen light sources, the lamp reaches high surface temperatures. These surface temperatures introduce a burn risk to anyone to anyone that allows prolonged skin contact with the light source, as well as a fire hazard if a flammable material is accidentally set too close to the light source for an extended period of time. While LED fixtures do still produce heat, they are designed with heat sinks to properly disperse the heat. Each LED bulb is engineered to disperse and expel this heat quickly and efficiently, keeping the lamp cooler than traditional light sources. This explosion proof LED work light operates at a lower surface temperature than a comparable model with traditional light source, and thus does not present a significant burn risk if an operator or bystander accidentally brushed up against an exposed lamp, and reduce the fire hazard should they fixture accidentally come in contact with a flammable material for a short period of time. This significantly increases the safety within the work environment. This unit incorporates two explosion proof LED hand lamps connected in series and is suitable for use in areas where petrochemical vapors and various dusts are present. The machined aluminum housings, cast aluminum guard, tempered glass lamp globe, and abrasion resistant cord make this a very durable unit that will resist damage from chemicals, abrasion, vibrations and impacts. This string lighting solution will provide the lighting you require in a flexible, easy to manage configuration. The hand lamps can be moved around and hooked to different points on your scaffold. The lights, however must remain within 10 feet of one other. Each molded T section contains a hook eyelet, allowing operators to suspend the entire backbone off the ground and out of the work space.
