The EPLC2-HHB-175W-LED-DNS hazardous area light is the perfect upgrade replacement for traditional 175 watt metal halide lamps. Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation. Instead of using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied. With LED lighting technology, there is no warm up time or cool down time before re-striking. Rather, LEDs provide instant illumination when powered on, making them more dependable and convenient than halide or incandescent lighting methods. This light comes with a built-in factory photocell. The sensor is built into the globe (not external).

In addition to being weatherproof and suitable for extreme temperatures, the EPLC2-HHB-175W-LED-DNS light delivers a powerful 11,200 lumens and high chromaticity for excellent color rendering while drawing only 90 watts. Designed with versatility in mind, this explosion proof hazardous area light runs on 120V or 208-277V.

By nature, LED light sources run significantly cooler than metal halide lamps, reducing the chance of accidental burns and increased temperatures due to heat emissions. This solid state design of light emitting diodes provides a more reliable, stable, durable, and energy efficient light source over traditional halide lighting. This internal driver provides the ability to automatically monitor and adjust input current to maintain the correct LED voltage levels regardless of input levels across a specific range. This not only reduces the energy dissipation, effectively lowering the operating temperature of the fixture, but also prevents AC over-voltage and short circuit loading making this fixture virtually maintenance free. Because the electronic driver allows the EPLC2-HHB-175W-LED-DNS to run at a cooler internal temperature and regulates the electrical current, energy efficiency and LED service hours are maximized while at the same time reducing operating costs and downtime incurred from the frequent servicing intervals required with other hotter running lights. As a result, the Larson Electronics Explosion Proof Light has a rated service life of 50,000 hours.

Energy Consumption Comparison

Each LED light fixture has the potential to save $50.00+ per year in electricity alone, not including maintenance costs, operational downtime, reduced productivity, HVAC loads, or carbon footprint. When retrofitting an entire facility with 100s of light fixtures, the return on investment of LED over metal halide becomes evident.

The EPLC2-HHB-175W-LED-DNS explosion proof hazardous area lamp is housed within a lightweight, high strength copper-free aluminum body. Protecting the LED lamp is a flat polycarbonate lens. The housing has been finished with an epoxy powder, and all exposed hardware is constructed of stainless steel for added corrosion prevention and durability. The LED assembly is connected with a solderless board connection for increased vibration resistants.

The Larson Electronics EPLC2-HHB-175W-LED-DNS is offered in wall, ceiling, pendant or stanchion mount. Wiring is through a convenient 3/4" NPT conduit entrance (1-1/2" for stanchion mounts), and a simple hinge arrangement makes for faster and easier installation by permitting Òhands-freeÓ wiring.
