Made in the USAThe Larson Electronics EPEXC-1X-GFCI-12.3-20-3P2W Explosion Proof GFCI cord whip is Class 1 Division 1 and Class 2 Division 1 approved and allows operators to connect lights and equipment into a GFCI protected outlet. This unit comes equipped with 20` of 12/3 SOOW cord terminated in a 20 amp rated explosion proof plug. This cord whip is ideal for operators looking to extend electrical power within hazardous work environments when hard piped outlets are not readily available. The EPEXC-1X-GFCI-12.3-20-3P2W Explosion Proof GFCI protected cord whip allows operators to safely operate their explosion proof lights or equipment cords within the boundaries of the hazardous work area from explosion proof outlets. These units are constructed of 20 feet of 12/3 SOOW cable and are rated at 20 amps of continuous service. The cord is chemical and abrasion resistant and comes with one in-line GFCI to protect one NEMA straight blade explosion proof receptacle installed on one end, and a UL 1686 standard 125/250V rated 3-pole, 2 wire pin and sleeve explosion proof plug installed on the other end.The plug on this unit is an explosion proof pin and sleeve design complying to UL 1686 standard. To ensure the highest safety, operators should make connections outside of the hazardous area if plugging into a non explosion proof receptacle or connector. Each receptacle`s contacts are deep recessed to avoid accidental contact. These explosion proof receptacles a T-slotted and will accept straight blade explosion proof plugs that are NEMA 5-15P or 5-20P (125V version), or 6-15P or 6-20P (250V version) compatible. Explosion proof plugs must be used; ordinary location plugs will NOT activate this cord`s explosion proof receptacles. The ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protects against possible injury from unwanted ground faults. This GFCI monitors the amount of current flowing through the unit, and provides immediate identification of faults by tripping the circuit when an imbalance is detected. Both the GFCI and outlet are factory sealed, enclosing any potentially arcing components within the copper free aluminum bodies. The GFCI protected outlet is mounted to a non-sparking aluminum back brace to provide additional support to the unit. The back brace features a cutout carrying handle to aid in transport and storage, allowing operators to pick up and carry the unit with one hand or for mounting with wall hooks. The EPEXC-1X-GFCI-12.3-20-3P2W is ideal for extending the range of potable equipment within such as lighting systems, power tools, and other electrical equipment within environments where explosive vapors or flammable dusts exist or may exist.Note on Poles/Wires: The EPEXC-1X-GFCI-12.3-20-3P2W extension cord is a 2-pole, 3-wire unit. Some OEMs print this information backwards and would list it as a 3-pole, 2-wire. This connector is the same thing. These OEMs list the "pole" as physical poles and the "wire" as hot wires. However, at Larson Electronics, we follow NEMA and IEC standards where "pole" is hot and "wire" is the total wires going to the recetpacles.Interchangeability (Male Plug): The male plug for input power to this explosion proof extension cord is fully interchangeable with configured and certified to UL 1686 devices, such as Crouse-Hinds¨ Arktite¨ or Appleton¨ Powertite¨. Ordinary location (non hazardous location) receptacle pin configurations patterns match. Note: This male plug is rated for 125/250V, operating on both 125V and 250V circuits. The explosion proof extension cord assembly is sold as 125V or 250V only and must be configured to one voltage when ordering. Please verify voltage on receptacles when plugging this unit into the receptacle. This extension cord WILL NOT change voltages.Inter-Compatibility (Receptacles): These extension cords accept T style plugs and will work with non-explosion proof standard receptacles and plugs (configured as: NEMA 5-15R / 5-20R T-slot receptacles for 125V; or NEMA 6-15R / 6-20R T-slot receptacles for 250V). The included receptacles are cross-interchangeable with Crouse Hind™ part# ENP5201 plugs and Hubble-Killiark part# UGP-20231 ACCEPTOR¨ plugs. Any equipment utilizing these C-H or H-B plugs should work with these cords. Due to possible manufacturer changes we cannot guarantee interchangability although we have made every effort to ensure cross compatibility correctness.Suggested Applications: Manufacturing, Industrial, Warehouse, Lighting, Explosion Proof Light Fixtures, Grinders, Wet areas or Locations Where Combustible Dust is Present.
