This power distribution system provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480VAC power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power. This portable substation is suitable for outdoor applications with a fully potted transformer and NEMA 3R load center. This unit provides an effective power distribution system for operators performing plant turnarounds, maintenance and cleaning in hazardous areas, equipment installations and repairs, and any activities requiring an alternative to native power sources. This portable transformer is designed to operate with 480V 60Hz, which it steps down to 120/240VAC single phase. The power distribution system on this portable substation makes 120VAC available via two 20-amp, 125V GFCI protected 5-20R receptacles and 240VAC available via one 30-amp, 250V L6-30R receptacle. Description: The MGL7.5-480-2X120.20-1X240.30-M1 portable power distribution substation converts 480VAC electrical current to single phase via a 7.5KVA transformer (480v to 120/240V 1PH, 60hz). A 25-foot #10 SOOW line-in power cord with a 30-amp APJ3485 600V-rated plug is included to connect the substation to a primary 480V power supply. A 20-amp fused disconnect provides primary line protection and supplies primary power to the 7.5KVA transformer. Secondary current is wired to a single phase, 100-amp NEMA 3R load center with main breaker for circuit protection. 120V line-out protection is provided by two 20-amp, 125V, 1-pole breakers protecting two 20-amp, 125V, GFCI waterproof 5-20R receptacles. One 30-amp, 250V, 2-pole breaker protecting one 30-amp, 250V, L6-30R receptacle. All with waterproof covers. The transformer and load center/distribution assembly is mounted to a standard (powder coated) steel cart style frame resulting in an extremely stable, durable, and mobile power distribution platform. Two rubber tires and a cart style mounting platform provides easier substation mobility, and a center point lift eye allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This temporary power distribution solution can be modified to meet the needs of job-site receptacle requirements. Units are available up to 150kva and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted. Applications: This power distribution system is NEMA 3R rated and ideal for indoor/outdoor use and applications including but not limited to; construction sites, plant maintenance, plant turnarounds, hazardous location operations, shows, exhibits, and shipyard operations.
