Made in Texas The Larson Electronics MPD-480V-45KVA-400.32A-230.16A-15KVA-208.120.20A power distribution substation converts 480V three phase electrical current into three phase 400Y/230VAC and 208Y/120VAC, via two transformers. This system provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480VAC power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power. *PLEASE NOTE: ANY FREE SHIPPING OFFERS DO NOT APPLY TO POWER DISTRIBUTION PANELS, TRANSFORMERS, OR SUBSTATIONS* Portable Power Distribution Purpose and Use: The MPD-480V-45KVA-400.32A-230.16A-15KVA-208.120.20A portable power distribution system gives operators the ability to power their 480 volt, 240-415 volt and 120 volt equipment from a single system. On the primary side, operators connect three phase 480V using a customer-provided cord. On the secondary side, operators may access two 532R6W CEE P/S receptacles for 240-415V equipment, two 20352-8B CEE 7/3 Schuko receptacles for 480 equipment and four 5-20R GFCI receptacles for 120V equipment. All receptacles are equipped with weatherproof covers. Operation: A customer-provided cord brings 480V three phase power to the first NEMA 3R 60-amp 480V three phase primary disconnect, which contains three 60-amp time delay fuses, and passes 480V three phase power to the first transformer. The first transformer consists of a NEMA 3R 45KVA transformer that converts 480V to 400Y/230V three phase 60Hz and passes the current to the secondary side. The secondary side of the first transformer is equipped with a NEMA 3R 65-amp 400Y/230V three phase main lug only panel. This 1st secondary panel contains two 30-amp 3-pole 480V breakers protecting two 32-amp 532R6W CEE P/S 240-415V receptacles and two 15-amp 1-pole 250V breakers protecting two 16-amp 20352-8B CEE 7/3 Schuko 250V receptacles. For the second set of units on the power distribution system, the same customer-provided cord brings 480V three phase power to the second NEMA 3R 30-amp 480V three phase primary disconnect, which is fused at 25 amps, and passes 480V three phase power to the second transformer. The second transformer consists of a NEMA 3R 15KVA transformer that converts 480V to 208Y/120V three phase 60Hz and passes the current to the secondary side. The secondary side of the second transformer is equipped with a NEMA 3R 41.6A 208Y/120V three phase main lug only panel. This 2nd secondary panel contains four 20-amp 1-pole 125V breakers protecting four 20-amp 5-20R GFCI 125V receptacles and four 15-amp 1-pole 125V breakers. Protective Construction: Unlike many portable power distribution boxes made of plastic and utilizing thin gauge, low grade metals in their construction, this unit is designed for serious use and is ruggedly constructed to withstand demanding conditions and heavy duty industrial applications. The transformer and load assembly is mounted on a 3/16" thick carbon steel mounting platform and the load center/distribution assembly is mounted to the standard 2" x 2" x 1/8" square carbon steel tubing frame, resulting in an extremely stable, durable and well protected power distribution platform. This model is equipped with forklift skid pockets, locking casters, and a top located lifting eyelet which allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This can be replaced for an additional cost with stainless steel, hot dip galvanized steel, or aluminum depending on the customer’s needs. Larger units are available upon request and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted. Certification: Larson Electronics is a UL 1640 panel shop and certified to build portable power distribution systems. All units are built in accordance to NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and certified to UL 1640. All equipment is NEMA 3R rated for indoor and outdoor use and provide a degree of protection against dirt, water, and ice. NEMA 4 and NEMA 4X equipment can be equipped upon request.
