This portable light tower has a removable quad light head assembly mounted on top of a four leg three inch steel quadpod equipped with 8 inch wheels for easy positioning of the unit from one area of the workspace to another. The light assembly on this unit produces a wide flood pattern of light that is ideal for illuminating large workspaces and job sites. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current applied and emitting light. With LED lights, there is no warm up time or cool down time before re-striking and provide instant illumination when powered on, adding to the reliability of LED technology. By nature, LED light sources run significantly cooler than traditional lamps, reducing the chance of accidental burns and increased temperatures due to heat emissions. This portable light tower is comprised of a removable light assembly fitted with four LED lamps mounted atop a four leg quadpod fabricated from three inch steel square tubing. This adjustable and collapsible quadpod pod can be extended to thirteen feet and collapsed to seven feet. The unit is extended and lowered using an included manual crank cable winch equipped with a brake for fast and safe deployment. An additional three feet of height is possible via an extension bracket, allowing operators to elevate the light heads to a height of sixteen feet above ground level. Included solid 8" polyurethane wheels allow the operator to tilt the unit back and simply roll the entire assembly to a new location when fully deployed. The light fixture assembly can be removed by releasing the hand knob and sliding the light and mounting bracket off of the center support while the legs can be collapsed, aiding in deployment, storage and transport. The lamps can be easily adjusted up or down independently of each other and locked into position for maximum coverage of the work area. Voltage: The drivers in this unit provide the ability to automatically monitor and adjust input current to maintain the correct LED voltage levels regardless of input levels across a specific range. These light towers can operate on current ranging from 90 to 305V AC or 127 to 431V DC without any modifications necessary as a result. This ability to sense and adjust input current also provides protection against voltage spikes and drops that can occur in electrical systems which would otherwise result in burning up or premature LED failure without it.
