The MPD-CW52-82.150-DE45YT-N-1.D04-1.D03-2.N10-2.Q5-M1 from Larson Electronics is a Cold Weather Power Distribution Substation that converts three-phase 480 V AC Delta electrical current to three-phase 208Y/120 V AC Wye. This fully enclosed power distribution unit provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480 V AC Delta power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power. Designed to withstand extreme cold weather conditions, the MPD-CW52-82.150-DE45YT-N-1.D04-1.D03-2.N10-2.Q5-M1 is equipped with a pair of space heaters to ensure breakers function properly in cold weather.

Protective Construction: This temporary power distribution unit is fully enclosed, rated NEMA 4, and is ruggedly constructed to withstand demanding cold weather conditions and industrial applications. The system is accessible via two doors at each end for access to breakers on the panels and a center-located door for access to receptacles. The MPD-CW52-82.150-DE45YT-N-1.D04-1.D03-2.N10-2.Q5-M1 is outfitted with four 24" tall legs. Each leg has an 8" platform at the base and (8) through holes for mounting the unit. The model is equipped with bottom-located forklift skid pockets and four top-located lifting eyelets which allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. Reflective tape on the top and bottom corners of the unit help increase visibility even if the unit is partially buried in snow.

The power distribution system is constructed of steel with a polyester powder coated red finish for durability against dirt, moisture, and mild corrosion. This special coating creates a high-strength barrier for protection from accidental bumps and scratches. The TGIC polyester powder coat finish offers reliable resistance against chemicals, UV light (sun light) and degrading elements in outdoor locations. Our powder coating solution ensures robust color retention for many years without fading. Custom colors, such as black, grey, desert tan or forest green, and galvanized finishes are available upon request. Non-standard powder coat colors or galvanized finishes may increase price and lead times.

Cold Weather Protection: With an operational temperature range of -80¡F to +40¡F (-62.2¡C to 4.4¡C), the MPD-CW52-82.150-DE45YT-N-1.D04-1.D03-2.N10-2.Q5-M1 is designed to operate reliably in extreme cold weather conditions. Additional cold weather provisions include a pair of space heaters, internal insulation, Type XHHW cold weather rated wire used internally, and externally mounted receptacles and inlets. Receptacles and inlets and typically internally mounted. The external mounting means there is no trap door for routing wire of connectors. The MPD-CW52-82.150-DE45YT-N-1.D04-1.D03-2.N10-2.Q5-M1 is rated for a windload of 110 MPH constant winds and gusts up to 142 MPH.

Heaters: To ensure that the breakers continue to function properly even during extreme cold weather, the MPD-CW52-82.150-DE45YT-N-1.D04-1.D03-2.N10-2.Q5-M1 is equipped with a pair of 1200W space heaters that are wired for the secondary side. Each heater is protected by a 125 V, 15-amp 1P miniature circuit breaker. The heaters are thermostatically controlled to keep the temperature at a proper operational level.

The transformer and load center/distribution assembly is mounted to a standard steel cube style frame resulting in an extremely stable, durable, and mobile power distribution platform. This temporary power distribution solution can be modified to meet the needs of job-site receptacle requirements. Larger units are available upon request and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted.

Certification: All units are built in accordance to NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and certified to UL 1640. All equipment is NEMA 4 rated for indoor and outdoor use and provide a degree of protection against dirt, water, sleet, snow, and ice and to be undamaged by the external formation of ice on the enclosure.

Grounding: Transformer is grounded to the frame and we provide a grounding lug on the frame for the earth ground.
