Portable Power Distribution Purpose and Use
The MPD-ATS.200A-2X80A.480CL-25KVA-1X50A.240.CL portable power distribution system gives operators the ability to power their 240 volt and 120 volt equipment from a single system. On the primary side, operators bring three-phase 480V power into the unit via two sets of E1015 female panel camlocks (brown, orange, yellow and green). On the secondary side, operators are provided access to one set of female panel camlocks (black, red, white and green) for single-phase 120/240V equipment.

Operation: Two sets of 150-amp 600V rated E1015 female panel camlocks (brown, orange, yellow and green) bring three-phase 480V power to the NEMA 3R 200-amp, three-phase 480V primary main circuit breaker panel, which contains two 80-amp 3-pole 480V and one 40-amp 3-pole 480V breakers, and passes three-phase 480V to a NEMA 3R 200-amp, three-phase 480V manual transfer switch. This manual transfer switch allows operators to connect to the power distribution system using customer-provided feeders to power three-phase 480V equipment.

The main circuit breaker panel on the primary side also passes single-phase 480V power to the transformer. The NEMA 3R 25 KVA transformer converts single-phase 480V to single-phase 120/240V and passes the current to the secondary side of the system. The secondary side of the transformer feeds a NEMA 3R 60-amp, single-phase 120/240V disconnect. This secondary disconnect contains two 50-amp time delay fuses and one set of 150-amp 600V rated female panel camlocks (black, red, white and green).

Protective Construction: Unlike many portable power distribution boxes made of plastic and utilizing thin gauge, low grade metals in their construction, this unit is designed for serious use and is ruggedly constructed to withstand demanding conditions and heavy duty industrial applications. The transformer and load assembly is mounted on a 3/16" thick carbon steel mounting platform and the load center/distribution assembly is mounted to the standard 2" x 2" x 1/8" square carbon steel tubing frame, resulting in an extremely stable, durable and well protected power distribution platform. This model is equipped with forklift skid pockets and a top located lifting eyelet which allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This can be replaced for an additional cost with stainless steel, hot dip galvanized steel, or aluminum depending on the customerÕs needs. Larger units are available upon request and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted.
