A toggle switch is a type of electric switch which operates by moving the lever back and forth to open and close the circuit. This switch has a long lever that allows the operator to switch between the off and on positions (see top right).
These switches are best used to change the status of system features and settings. Toggle switches will replace two radio buttons or checkboxes. It allows the user to choose between two opposite states.
The toggle switch attaches to the operator interface from the rear. This product makes it ideal for designs requiring printed circuit boards. It uses toggle lock washers to prevent the button from rotating after installation.
Toggle switches are popular in outdoor or industrial applications, such as asphalt screed and military vehicle control, because they can be easily sealed with a "trunk" cover.
