Click here to learn more about UVC and the corona virus* The IND-HVAC-DTV-UVC-R1-SS-9W-1L-120V-10C is a powerful sanitation solution for vents inside industrial sites and commercial facilities. Equipped with one UVC compact fluorescent lamp secured on adjustable arms, this system offers 2.4 watts of UV output at a wavelength of 253.7nm. The light has an expected lifespan of 8,000+ hours and emits a flood beam pattern. The compact size of the IND-HVAC-DTV-UVC-R1-SS-9W-1L-120V-10C allows it to be used continuously in vents. The 9-watt lamp has a single-ended power source. Reflector shields at the back of the bulb socket reduces stray UV light from escaping the vent. An indicator light on the ballast box provides the real-time power status of the sanitation unit. Operation: This UV disinfection system projects ultraviolet rays inside the vent it is mounted in. The air flowing through the unit that passes through the UV rays is then sanitized. Bacteria and viruses present in the air that passes through the UV rays produced by the fixture are destroyed. The air moving through the AC unit is constantly being purified as it flows through the UV rays being produced by the fixture. Wiring: The IND-HVAC-DTV-UVC-R1-SS-9W-1L-120V-10C is comprised of a ballast box and one compact fluorescent UVC bulb. The bulb is connected to the ballast box by a 12' 16/3 SOOW cord to allow for flexible mounting depending on the requirements of the area. 5-15 Straight Blade Plug 15 Amp / 125V Rated L5-15 Twist Lock Plug 15 Amp / 125V Rated Flying Leads / Pigtail Wires Plug: The ballast box on this unit is equipped with 10 feet of 16/3 chemical and abrasion resistant SOOW cord that is fitted with an industrial grade cord cap for easy connection to common wall outlets. Plug options include standard 5-15 15 amp straight blade plug for 110V wall outlets with ground or NEMA L5-15 15 amp twist lock plug for 125V twist lock outlets. Alternatively, we can provide flying leads with no plug for hard wire applications or for operators who prefer to wire in user provided cord caps. Please choose pigtail option below for flying leads with no plug. Mounting: The IND-HVAC-DTV-UVC-R1-SS-9W-1L-120V-10C is designed to be mounted at the corner of vents, with the UV lamps recessed inside from the vent opening by approximately 4 inches using a bracket system. The accompanying ballast box can be mounted on available surfaces around the lamp. This system is suitable for 12" x 8" and 12" x 10" vents. Note on Environment: Sunlight and visible light fixtures do not impact the effectiveness of the disinfecting on this UVC sanitation product. Metal halide, high pressure sodium, fluorescent, and LED light fixtures can be left on. The UV radiation emitted from this product is not disrupted by any type of lighting in the environment. Put simply, NO it DOES NOT need to be dark in the area you plan to disinfect. The UV radiation is harmful to the eyes and skin, and that is why you should not be in the area while it is in operation.
