Made in Texas The Larson Electronics EXP-LED-1XB-9W rechargeable explosion proof LED light can be used as either an inspection light or a general area work light, as it enables the operator the ability to change the beam from a long, tight spot beam to shorter, wider flood beam. The runtime on this rechargeable explosion proof led light is approximately 8 hours using a 4.8 Volt NiMH battery pack and features 3 high powered LEDs, adjustable beam focus, articulating head and “easy to change” battery packs. The beam configuration on this explosion proof LED light can be changed from spot to flood in only a few seconds, making this light ideal as an inspection light or a general area work. The operator can remove a clear lens to reveal the LED lens. With a thumb and forefinger, the operator can pull the lens out for a longer, narrower spot beam or push it the lens inward for a wide area flood beam. The T3 temperature rating and Class 1, Division 1 and Division 2, Groups C & D rating on this handheld explosion proof LED light qualifies it for locations where flammable gases, vapors, or liquids are constantly present. Pull for Spot Beam Push for Flood Beam Swappable Battery Packs Within the Hazardous Locations Areas: One of the most interesting features of this explosion proof LED light is the ability to swap battery packs within the hazardous location area. With most rechargeable explosion proof flashlights or task lights, the operator must first step out of the hazardous location boundaries before he is able to replace the battery. This particular explosion proof LED light keeps the operator efficient by eliminating the need to leave the work area to change batteries. When the light has approximately 30 minutes left on the battery, an LED indicator light will start blinking. This blinking feature will slow as the light reaches shut off point. This particular model comes with 1 battery pack that allows for 8 hours of run time. The charger must be configured to the 1.8A setting before charging which can be done at the top left corner of the charger. While charging, the pack has a LED indicator that switches from red to green when charging is complete. The operator must take caution to not overcharge the battery as this will eventually affect the normal performance and service life of the battery. Although the battery pack can be swapped out in the hazardous location, the battery itself cannot actually be charged within the hazardous area. Articulating Head: This hazardous location LED light is equipped with an adjustable knob that enables the operator to position the head of the LED light. The operator loosens the knob, positions the LED light head and tightens the knob to hold the position. The power switch is below the adjustment knob. By pressing the switch until a click is audible, the light will lock into either the ON or OFF position. Trouble Light Style Hook: This explosion proof LED light also serves as a task/drop light and comes standard with a top mounted hook for overhead hanging of the light. The unit also comes standard with a nylon lanyard to avoid accidental dropping/damage to the LED light.
