A T junction is mounted every twelve feet, with 3 feet of 14/3 SOOW cord connecting a single drop light to the backbone. The cord on this unit is terminated with a 20 amp 5-20 or 6-20 Class 1, Division 1 explosion proof plug for complete protection. With this arrangement, each drop light cannot spark if pulled apart or dragged. An 25 foot tail section of main SOOW cord is included to allow ample length for connection to power sources. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current applied and emitting light. With LED lights, there is no warm up time or cool down time before re-striking and provide instant illumination when powered on, adding to the reliability of LED technology. By nature, LED light sources run significantly cooler than traditional lamps, reducing the chance of accidental burns and increased temperatures due to heat emissions. This solid state design of light emitting diodes provides a more reliable, stable, durable, and energy efficient light source over traditional lighting.This unit incorporates ten explosion proof LED hand lamps connected in series and is suitable for use in areas where petrochemical vapors and various dusts are present. The machined aluminum housings, cast aluminum guard, tempered glass lamp globe, and abrasion resistant cord make this a very durable unit that will resist damage from chemicals, abrasion, vibrations and impacts. This string lighting solution will provide the lighting you require in a flexible, easy to manage configuration. The hand lamps can be moved around and hooked to different points on your scaffold. The lights, however must remain within 12 feet of one other. Each T section contains a swivel handle, allowing operators to suspend the entire backbone off the ground and out of the work space. Operators can daisy chain up to 15 units end to end in 120 volt or 30 units in 240 volt configurations. Up to four units in 24 volt AC/DC can be connected end to end. A 25` input whip terminated in an explosion proof cord cap completes the explosion proof protection of this string light.
