The bug eye lights and exit sign are illuminated under standard main grid power under normal operation. When power is lost, the unit switches to battery power.The EXP-EMG-EXT-12W-3L is an ideal solution for operators who wish to ensure their hazardous workspaces employ the most effective and reliable safety lighting options available. Under normal conditions this emergency lamp uses normal external power to illuminate its two 6 watt LED lamps. In the case of power outages or in any situation where power is interrupted, this unit automatically switches to a battery backup which will power the unit for 90 minutes or until power is restored. Once power is restored a built in charger will return the unit to a fully charged state within acceptable UL time limits.This explosion proof emergency exit lighting fixture carries an integral maintenance-free, sealed, high temperature Nickel-Cadmium battery backup power supply. When external power is cut due to outages or accidents this lamp automatically switches to its battery backup which will power the LED bulbs for 90 minutes. The battery is protected from deep discharge by solid state circuitry which senses low voltage and turns off the unit before battery damage can occur.
