The Larson Electronics HALP-EMG-48-3L-LED-DNMS Hazardous Location Emergency LED Fixture with Motion + Day/Night Sensor is U.S./Canada approved Class I, Division 2 Groups A, B, C and D and specifically designed to handle the rigors of wet and corrosive marine environments. Equipped with a T4 temperature rating, the fixture has an added battery backup, which provides 90 minutes of emergency runtime.

This four foot, three lamp emergency LED fixture is ideal for operators seeking a top quality hazardous location light that will reduce operating costs, improve lighting quality and reduce downtime incurred from frequent servicing intervals. The HALP-EMG-48-3L-LED-DNMS hazardous area LED light fixture is designed for use in wet areas and saltwater-marine environments where corrosion resistance is critical to equipment longevity and safety. This Class I, Division 2 rated fixture is constructed of non-corrosive materials, including a polyester housing reinforced with glass fiber, a poured in gasket for reliable sealing and an impact resistant acrylic diffuser. Eight plastic latches secure the lamp cover to the housing and provide a firm lock against the poured in seal to prevent drips and water intrusion.

Emergency Battery Backup: This hazardous location fixture contains a battery backup unit that adds emergency light functionality. In non-emergency mode, the unit operates with the sensor using normal available power. When a power outage occurs, the emergency LED fixture continues to operate with the sensor for up to 90 minutes of use during motion. The light recharges the battery once electrical power is restored. Standard configuration includes a single emergency battery backup that is automatically recharged and kept in a ready state.

We now offer our second generation LED tube lamps with this fixture which have increased this hazardous location lightÕs performance. This three lamp HAZLOC LED linear fixture is lighter in weight and produces more light than hazardous location fluorescent fixtures. The four foot long LED tube design bulbs included with this unit are rated at 50,000 hours of service life, which isÊover twice as long as standard T8 bulbs.

The HALP-EMG-48-3L-LED-DNMS is NRTL certified to UL 844 and Class I, Division II, Groups A, B, C, D approved. This fixture also carries an outdoor marine rating and meets US Coast Guard specifications. This lamp offers the extreme durability, high efficiency and long lamp life of high power LEDs in a proven hazardous location fixture design, making it a reliable and affordable lighting solution for open areas where flammable chemicals and vapors may occasionally be present. We have eliminated the ballast normally associated with fluorescent fixtures which reduces overall weight and overall complexity of installation. There is no ballast in this unit and the included LEDT8-28W-V1 LED lamps have a 50,000+ hour service life, both of which result in extreme efficiency and greatly reduced maintenance costs. The solid state design of the LED lamps give this fixture superior resistance to damage from vibration, extremes in temperature and a lamp service life over twice that of standard fluorescent bulbs. This second generation lamp is offered in 5600K cool white, 4500K natural white, and 3000K warm white. Our standard unit ships with 5600K unless different color temperature is specified.

Unlike the glass tube design of traditional fluorescent lamps, these LED T-Style lamps have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation. Instead of using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current applied and emitting light. The LED assembly is mounted to the "tube" constructed from extruded aluminum, with a polycarbonate lens protecting the LEDs. With LED lights, there is no warm up time or cool down time before re-striking and provide instant illumination when powered on, adding to the reliability of LED technology. By nature, LED light sources run significantly cooler than fluorescent lamps, reducing the chance of accidental burns and increased temperatures due to heat emissions. This solid state design of light emitting diodes provides a more reliable, stable, durable, and energy efficient light source over traditional fluorescent lighting.

Sensor Technology: The HALP-EMG-48-3L-LED-DNMS is equipped with an innovative and powerful day/night + motion sensor. This sensor, which is located inside the light fixture itself, allows the HALP-EMG-48-3L-LED-DNMS to operate in one of several different and versatile modes. This LED light fixture can be set to be motion activated, day/night activated or in a combination of motion sensing and day/night modes. This high-tech sensor is also highly adjustable and allows operators to modify the following settings: motion sensor sensitivity, motion sensor time-delay and the intensity output level of the fixture. Having this degree of flexibility in operation and settings offers operators an incredibly versatile light fixture.

Sensor Versatility: The impressive versatility of the motion + day/night sensor found in the HALP-EMG-48-3L-LED-DNMS LED light fixture allows for a lot of creativity in the setup of a single one of these light fixtures. However, the versatility is further increased when multiple units are to be installed together such as in a parking garage or other similar structure. Operators can take advantage of the sensor versatility to set up an energy efficient and automated lighting setup. Take a parking garage for example. Operators would be able to set up a sequence of HALP-EMG-48-3L-LED-DNMS fixtures with alternating lights on separate circuits. The first circuit would have sensors set to a lower lux level than the fixtures on the second circuit. This hypothetical setup would allow half the lights to come on as daylight began to fade and the rest of the lights would only come on once complete darkness had fallen. The fixtures could then be adjusted for motion sensing which would allow selected fixtures to power on when pedestrian or vehicle movement was detected and then turn off after an operator chosen interval to conserve energy. This is just one example of the flexibility and versatility that can be achieved with the HALP-EMG-48-3L-LED-DNMS .

The 28 watt LED lamps produce 30% more illumination than standard T8 bulbs while offering lower amp draw and increased reliability. Each lamp produces 3,500 lumens at 125 lumens per watt, for a combined 10,500 total lumen light output. An HALP-48-3L-T8 hazardous location fluorescent light, with a combined total of 96 watts, draws 0.8 amps at 120 volts AC. This LED version of the same light, with a total of 84 watts, draws only 0.7 amps at 120 volts AC. This results in a lower amp draw while still providing increased reliability and light output.

The HALP-EMG-48-3L-LED-DNMS is universal voltage, not multi-tap, and operates on any voltage from 120V to 277V AC 50/60hz without any modifications. This includes commonly found voltages such as 120V 60Hz, 220V 50Hz, 240V 60Hz, and 277V 60Hz. We also make a 12/24V AC/DC version for low voltage applications for AC or DC power.
