Made in Texas The Larson Electronics MGS-600V-45KVA-480V-15KVA-208.120-MOD1 power distribution substation converts 600V three phase electrical current into three phase 480Y/277V AC and 208Y/120V AC, via two transformers. This system provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 600V AC power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power. Portable Power Distribution Purpose and Use: The MGS-600V-45KVA-480V-15KVA-208.120-MOD1 portable power distribution system gives operators the ability to power their 600 volt, 480 volt, 240 volt and 120 volt equipment from a single system. On the primary side, operators connect three phase 600V using a customer-provided cord and to two L17-30R receptacles for 600V equipment. On the secondary side, operators may access four L16-20R receptacles for 480V equipment, one L15-30R receptacle for 240 equipment and twelve 5-20R GFCI receptacles for 120V equipment. All receptacles are equipped with weatherproof covers. Operation: A customer-provided cord brings 600V three phase power to the NEMA 3R 125-amp 600V three phase primary main circuit breaker panel, which contains two 30-amp 3-pole 600V breakers protecting two 30-amp 600V L17-30R receptacles. The main circuit breaker panel is also equipped with one 50-amp 3-pole 600V breaker, feeding 600V three phase to the first transformer, and one 15-amp 3-pole 600V breaker, feeding 600V three phase to the second transformer. The first transformer consists of a NEMA 3R 45 KVA transformer that converts 600V to 480Y/277V three phase 60Hz and passes the current to the secondary side. The secondary side of the first transformer is equipped with a NEMA 3R 54.1-amp 480Y/277V three phase main lug only panel. This 1st secondary panel contains four 20-amp 3-pole 480V breakers protecting four 20-amp 480V L16-20R receptacles. For the second set of units on the power distribution system, the second transformer consists of a NEMA 3R 15 KVA transformer that converts 600V to 208Y/120V three phase 60Hz and passes the current to the secondary side. The secondary side of the second transformer is equipped with a NEMA 3R 41.6A 208Y/120V three phase main lug only panel. This 2nd secondary panel contains one 30-amp 3-pole 250V breaker protecting one 30-amp 250V L15-30R receptacle and twelve 20-amp 1-pole 125V breakers protecting twelve 20-amp 125V 5-20R GFCI receptacles. Protective Construction: Unlike many portable power distribution boxes made of plastic and utilizing thin gauge, low grade metals in their construction, this unit is designed for serious use and is ruggedly constructed to withstand demanding conditions and heavy duty industrial applications. The transformer and load assembly is mounted on a 3/16" thick carbon steel mounting platform and the load center/distribution assembly is mounted to the standard 2" x 2" x 1/8" square carbon steel tubing frame, resulting in an extremely stable, durable and well protected power distribution platform. This model is equipped with forklift skid pockets, locking polyurethane casters, and a top located lifting eyelet which allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This can be replaced for an additional cost with stainless steel, hot dip galvanized steel, or aluminum depending on the customer’s needs. Larger units are available upon request and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted. Grounding: Transformer is grounded to the frame and we provide a grounding lug on the frame for the earth ground. ~Please check all motor loads for dual rated motors that will work 208 or 240.~ Applications: This power distribution system is ideal for indoor or outdoor use and applications including but not limited to, construction sites, plant maintenance, plant turnarounds, shows, exhibits, and shipyard operations.
