Made in Texas The Larson Electronics MPD-ASF-MR-SS-208.3P-300KVA-480.3P temporary power distribution system converts three-phase 208V AC electrical current into three-phase 480V AC. Designed for saltwater environments and marine applications, this unit provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 208V AC power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power. *PLEASE NOTE: ANY FREE SHIPPING OFFERS DO NOT APPLY TO POWER DISTRIBUTION PANELS, TRANSFORMERS, OR SUBSTATIONS* Portable Power Distribution Purpose and Use: The MPD-ASF-MR-SS-208.3P-300KVA-480.3P portable power distribution system gives operators the ability to power their equipment from a single system. On the primary side, operators connect three-phase 208 volt using a customer-provided cord. On the secondary side, a molded case circuit breaker disconnect is available for completing electrical connections to the system. Operation: A customer-provided cord brings 208V three phase power to the NEMA 4X 1,000-amp 208V three phase primary molded case circuit breaker disconnect without knockouts, which contains sixteen 4 AWG ground lugs and a red power indicator light, and passes power through to the transformer. The NEMA 4X 300 KVA encapsulated transformer converts 208V three phase power to 480V three phase 60Hz and passes the current to the secondary side. The secondary side of the transformer is equipped with a NEMA 4X 500-amp 480V three phase secondary molded case circuit breaker disconnect without knockouts, which contains nine ground lugs (eight 4 AWG and one 4/0 AWG) and a red power indicator light. Protective Construction: Unlike many portable power distribution boxes made of plastic and utilizing thin gauge, low grade metals in their construction, this unit is designed for saltwater environments and is ruggedly constructed to withstand demanding conditions in offshore and marine applications. The entire assembly is mounted to an aluminum, 76"H x 78"W x 48.5"D skid frame with a rectangular base. Cross beams and slanted braces provide additional support for the power distribution system during transportation. This build results in an extremely stable, durable and well protected power distribution platform. The transformer is protected by a NEMA 4X rated 316 stainless steel enclosure with a natural finish. The primary and secondary non-fused disconnects are protected by NEMA 4X rated 316 stainless steel enclosures. This aluminum skid frame is powder coated grey and equipped with forklift skid pockets and top-located lifting eyelets, which allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This can be replaced for an additional cost with stainless steel or other steel variants depending on the customer’s needs. Larger units are available upon request and can be equipped with locking casters or trailer mounted. Certification: Larson Electronics is a UL 1640 panel shop and certified to build portable power distribution systems. All units are built in accordance to NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and certified to UL 1640. All equipment is NEMA 4X rated for indoor and outdoor use and provide a degree of protection against dirt, water and ice. NEMA 3R, NEMA 4 and NEMA 12 equipment can be equipped upon request. Grounding: Transformer is grounded to the frame and we provide a grounding lug on the frame for the earth ground. ~Please check all motor loads for dual rated motors that will work 208 or 240.~ Applications: This power distribution system is ideal for indoor or outdoor use and applications including but not limited to, marine sites, saltwater environments, docks, offshore, construction sites, plant maintenance, plant turnarounds, shows, exhibits, and shipyard operations. These power distribution systems are popularly used in applications where external power sources are often necessary. We also offer class rated transformers for use within explosion proof and hazardous location environments. Custom Built Systems Available: Larson Electronics is a manufacturer and we can build portable power distribution systems to your specifications. Although we carry several models of portable power distribution systems in stock, we can deliver custom ordered units almost as quickly as our prebuilt units.
