Made in Texas This MGL-25K-6X30.130-1X60.240-ATS power distribution system is designed to accommodate two different types of power source scenarios. Sometimes contractors go to one worksite and have access to single phase 220/240V power. This system will enable them to run grinders on 120V and larger equipment on 220V. Other times, they only have access to 480V three phase power. This power distribution system will enable them to run their grinders and larger equipment on 240V three phase. So we designed this system to accommodate either scenario with a built in automatic transfer switch (ATS).*PLEASE NOTE: ANY FREE SHIPPING OFFERS DO NOT APPLY TO POWER DISTRIBUTION PANELS, TRANSFORMERS, OR SUBSTATIONS* The automatic transfer switch sits between the transformer and the secondary panel. When it detects power coming from the transformer, it ensures the line-in cable dedicated for 240/220V service is not energized. When the line-in cable for 240/220V is energized, the ATS will cut off power from the 480V transformer. In either scenario, the customer can access the 120V L5-30 outlets and the 60-amp 240V outlet provided. In the event that the 10-foot number 4 Type-W line-in cable for the 220/240V single phase is energized, the secondary panel passes that single phase power to the 60-amp breaker and the Hubbell HBL460R12W receptacle. It also energizes the six 120V L5-30 receptacles with hinged weatherproof covers. In the event the transformer is passing three phase 120/240V to the secondary panel, the 60-amp three phase 240V Hubbell HBL460R7W and the six 120V L5-30 receptacles will be energized. In this scenario, the ATS will cut off power to the single phase line-in cable, so electrical hazards are eliminated. The disconnect protects the 480V-120/240V three phase, potted NEMA 3R transformer. Power passes from the transformer through the automatic transfer switch to the 100-amp main breaker NEMA 3R secondary panel. The secondary panel is set up with a shunt trip main breaker and feed through buss. The secondary panel contains a 60-amp breaker protecting a HBL460R7W receptacle (with cover) for 240V three phase applications; six 30-amp, 120V breakers protecting six L5-30 outlets with hinged covers; and a 2 pole, 60-amp breaker protecting a Hubbell HBL460R12W receptacle with cover for single phase 240V applications. When dealing with a 240V primary power source, a #4 Type W cable (10-foot) brings 240V power to the automatic transfer switch. When energized, the ATS passes the 240V power to the same 100-amp main breaker NEMA 3R secondary panel described above, energizing the six L5-30 outlets and a 60-amp Hubbell HBL460R12W receptacle. The NEMA 3R potted transformer and load center/distribution assembly is mounted to a standard steel, cart style frame resulting in an extremely stable, durable, and mobile power distribution platform. Two rubber tires and a cart style mounting platform provides easier substation mobility, and a center point lift eye allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This temporary power distribution solution can be modified to meet the needs of job-site receptacle requirements. Other configurations are available and can be equipped in skid or trailer mount form factors. This power distribution system conforms to UL 1640. Applications: This power distribution system is NEMA 3R rated and ideal for indoor/outdoor use and applications including but not limited to; construction sites, plant maintenance, plant turnarounds, shows, exhibits and shipyard operations. Larson Electronics is a manufacturer and as such can build portable transformer systems to your specifications. Although we carry several models of power distribution transformers, we can deliver custom ordered units almost as quickly as our prebuilt units.
