The Larson Electronics DCP-2.5-5VÊ25 Watt Power Supply converts commonly used 100-240VAC electrical current to 5VDC @ 2.5 Amps. This converter is designed to be hardwired into home, boat or vehicle electrical supplies where the voltage is typically within the 100-240VAC range and reduces it to 5VDC, allowing users to operate equipment like our LED and HID lights that require 5ÊVolt DC current from standard AC power.

The DCP-2.5-5VÊ25 watt power converter provides a safe and effective way for users to tap into and utilize 100-240 Volt AC power sources and convert this current to 5ÊVolts DC for use with equipment that requires 5Êvolt electrical power. This unit can be operated with input current ranging from 100 to 240 VAC and will output 5ÊVolt DC current at 2.5 amps. This power converter includes integral short circuit and overload protection that will shut down the unit in case of faults and overloads to protect the unit and connected equipment from damage.

This converter comes with clearly labeled input and output leads that are approximately 1 foot long and stripped and tinned for hardwired connections using butt splice connectors, wire screws, plates, etc. The small size and wide input voltage range of this unit make it ideal for operating Larson Electronics LED light bars, Golights and other equipment that requires 5VDC current indoors and anywhere 5Êvolt DC power is not readily available.

MeasuringÊ5 inches long by 1.5 inches wide by 1 inch deep, this unit weighs less than one pound and is mounted with two conventional screws via slots that allow removal and repositioning simply by loosening the screws.

The DCP-2.5-5VÊ25 watt converter features full range, universal AC input capability and can be operated with 100 to 277VAC. The unit converts this AC power input toÊ25 watt, 2.5 Amp 5VDC output. Integrally designed protection includes overload, short circuit and over voltage safeguards to prevent overheating and unit damage in case of faults or overly heavy current draw. This unit will shut down when an over current fault is encountered and automatically resume operation once the fault is repaired or removed. When an over voltage condition is encountered the unit will shut down and recovers when manually turned back on.

This power converter has a -30 / +70C operating temperature range and is UL 1310 Class 2 and CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 223-M91 rated. This unit has an 81% conversion efficiency and is suitable for use with moving LED signs and similar LED equipment.

NOTE: In order to obtain the best performance and the longest operational life from these units, it is recommended that you do not exceed 75% of the unitÕs output amperage. To determine if this converter suits your desired application, add together the total wattage of the equipment you intend to use with this unit and divide this total by 5Êvolts to find the total amperage draw that will be placed upon the converter. For example, if you are using our LEDP10W-60E 60 watt LED light, 60 watts divided by 5Êvolts is 5 amps. This would mean the DCP-2.5-5VÊis not suitable as it would run at 100% capacity to produce the necessary 5 amps and run hotter, leading to reduced converter life. Thus, a higher rated converter like our DCP-11-12V would be a better choice.
