Description

Engines are built to function on a constant voltage and high current, with the battery providing power. A complex device called an ignition coil raises the low voltage of your car's battery to hundreds of volts, which are then used to ignite the gasoline in the spark plugs. Your engine will likely misfire if an ignition coil is not operating properly. When driving at regular speeds, a misfiring engine causes jerking or spitting. When you come to a complete stop, a misfire caused by a faulty ignition coil may cause your boat to shake, vibrate, or run rough.
