The Exhaust Bellow is for 1996-1998 Mercruiser Alpha Gen II and Bravo bell housing assemblies. Sometimes it is referred to as the flexible corrugated pipe. It is found on the engine, between Turbos, and even after treatment and the silencer or outlet pipe. A loud noise when driving indicates damage involving the gimble bearing and the U-joint bellows. The exhaust bellows limit the motion or kinetic energy when passed along from the engine to high-cost emissions systems. It is by absorbing displacements and vibrations and accommodating thermal expansion.
