EatonÕs satellite propulsion regulator is an integral component used to pressurize bipropellant tanks in communication satellite propulsion systems. We designed our regulators with a lightweight composite spring system, a machined titanium housing and in a series-redundant configuration to ensure continued system function should either of the redundant regulator pair fail open, ensuring high reliability.

Our satellite propulsion regulator features metal-to-metal seats in both stages to resist upstream migration of dinitrogen tetroxide (N2O4) or hydrazine (N2H4) vapors. In the absence of such vapors, a metal-to-Vespel¨ seat can be used in the upstream regulator to further mitigate internal leakage. Additionally, EatonÕs valve designs utilize welded closures throughout the gas flow path to further minimize external leakage.
