The Choke Pull-Off (Carbureted) fits the Rochester 4 Barrel carburetor style. A manifold vacuum-operated design to the choke plate slightly after the engine starts to prevent engine flooding. The choke valve is fully closed when the engine is cold to allow the engine to get the extra fuel it needs to get going and to decrease the signal at the booster. The choke pull-off will retract when the engine starts vacuuming. To test the choke pull-oo, apply 15? of vacuum to the vacuum line going to the choke pull-off. If the plunger isnt retracted for 20-30 seconds, there is a failure. It may include engine flooding, rich exhaust when the engine is cold, and poor fuel economy.
