The carburetor is the most misunderstood mechanical component on a boat and many small motor machines. For combustion, all engines require a suitable mixture of air and fuel; the bizarre mechanism known as the carburetor regulates the fuel/air ratio entering the engine. It may appear to be a simple task, but there are several carburetor parts that, if not adjusted properly, will cause the boat to sail poorly or not run at all. A drain is installed on the Carburator FLOAT (118-36906) for maintenance and, in some situations, to assess the actual fuel height. Because fuel metering is a function of float level, fuel level is within tight tolerances.
