This unit uses a 30 watt Par38 LED lamp that produces 53,500 Lux at the lens and 1,980 Lux at 1 meter. The Par38 LED lamp produces more light than a typical 300 watt incandescent bulb while drawing only 30 watts and a tenth of the amps. The light produced has a 5500 Kelvin color which is bright white compared to typical incandescent or halogen lamps and results in more effective color rendering and contrast. The LED lamp runs at a cool 55 degrees Fahrenheit compared to the 198 degree average of a 300 watt incandescent, resulting in an easier to handle unit and less heat in the workspace. This unit`s durability, easy deployment, high power and good color rendering make it ideal for first responders and emergency services. The non sparking collapsible quadpod weighs only 15 pounds and can be extended to 12 feet and collapsed to 52 inches. Both the shaft and legs of the non-sparking quadpod are collapsible. The quadpod can be easily detached from the light aiding in deployment, storage and transport. The quadpod affords operators the ability to quickly and securely elevate this lamp, increasing its effective coverage of the work area. The lamp can be easily adjusted up, down or from side to side and locked into position. The lamp housing is waterproof and constructed of thick copper free aluminum alloy, making it ideal for use in wet and marine environments. The Par38 LED lamp provides 3,800 square feet of coverage with 2,200 lumens of bright white light at 5500 Kelvin, producing good color rendering and object contrast. The LEDs in this unit are highly resistant to damage from shocks or impacts, greatly reducing the chances of damage should the tower be knocked over, unlike incandescent lamps which may break or shatter. The LED lamp is rated at 50,000 hours of life providing up to ten years of regular service. This lamp is available in 120 volt 50/60 hz, 220/240 volt 50/60 hz, and 12 volt DC or 24 volt DC versions. 12VDC or 24VDC versions have no transformer and run directly off of DC current.
