The EPLC2-HHB-GLB-70W-LED Hazardous Area LED Light Fixture from Larson Electronics offers operators a powerful and energy efficient alternative to traditional hazardous location lamps. This 45-watt LED hazardous area light is designed for installation in locations where flammable gases, vapors and liquids, combustible dusts, and/or ignitable fibers and flyings exist or have the potential to exist. Weatherproof and listed for marine use, this LED light is an ideal choice for a range of industrial and hazardous applications, as well as takes on a traditional globe/guard fixture design.

The EPLC2-HHB-GLB-70W-LED produces 5,800 lumens of light while drawing only 45 watts. This high output LED light fixture is designed to replace older, less efficient 70 watt metal halide light fixtures. Designed with versatility in mind, this explosion proof hazardous area light runs on 120-277V AC 50/60Hz. When in use, the LED light offers a full, 360¡ beam angle for maximum illumination.

The hazardous area lamp is housed within a lightweight, high strength copper-free aluminum body. Protecting the LED lamp from direct contact and debris is a transparent globe with a sturdy cage guard. The cylindrical form factor, which take on similar appearances with traditional fixtures, ensures maximum lumen output at work sites. All external hardware consists of stainless steel components. Tough, reliable construction gives this fixture exceptional durability and resistance to vibration and impacts.

A NEMA 4X waterproof rating indicates that the enclosure of this LED light provides a degree of protection against hazardous elements, provides a degree of protection against environmental concerns, such as the ingress of water, provides additional protection against corrosion and that the enclosure will not be damaged by external formation of ice. Ruggedly built and approved for use in wet and marine locations, this lamp is certified for Class I, Division 2; Class II, Divisions 1 & 2 and Class III rated areas and is ideal for industrial applications, confined spaces and hazardous work facilities where a safe, powerful and durable floodlight solution is needed.

LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life.

LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. Solid state LED lighting is also safer for the environment as LEDs are 100% recyclable. And recycling simultaneously reduces operating costs by eliminating the need for the expensive special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps.

Hubs: Wiring is through a convenient 3/4" NPT conduit entrance (1-1/2" for stanchion mounts), and a simple hinge arrangement makes for faster and easier installation by permitting seamless wiring.

Mounting: The EPLC2-HHB-GLB-70W-LED is available in wall, ceiling, pendant, 1-1/4Ó stanchion, 1-1/2Ó stanchion or 1/2Ó stanchion mount.

Suggested Applications: Paint spray booths, Aircraft maintenance, Oil Drilling Rigs, Refineries, Solvent and Cleaning Areas, Gas Processing Plants, Chemical Manufacturing, Waste Treatment Plants and more.
