Made in Texas The Larson Electronics MGL-50A.8465C-30AFT.480-7.5KVA-4X120.20A power distribution substation converts single-phase 480VAC electrical current into single-phase 120/240VAC. This unit provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480VAC power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power. The station is capable of passing through 24" by 24" openings, features a built-in cord wrap for customer provided cable and contains a top located eyelet for picking. *PLEASE NOTE: ANY FREE SHIPPING OFFERS DO NOT APPLY TO POWER DISTRIBUTION PANELS, TRANSFORMERS, OR SUBSTATIONS* Portable Power Distribution Purpose and Use: The MGL-50A.8465C-30AFT.480-7.5KVA-4X120.20A portable power distribution system gives operators the ability to power their 480 volt and 120 volt equipment from a single system. On the primary side, operators connect 480V single phase using 20` of #8 Type W cord with a CS8465C cord cap and to one L8-30R receptacle in a feed through configuration for 480V equipment. On the secondary side, operators connect to four 5-20R GFCI receptacles for 120V equipment. All receptacles are equipped with weatherproof covers. Operation: A 20` #8 Type W cord with a 50-amp 480V CS8465C cord cap brings 480V single phase power to the NEMA 3R 30-amp 480V single phase primary disconnect, which contains two 30-amp time delay fuses protecting one 30-amp 480V L8-30R receptacle in a feed through configuration, and passes 480V single phase through to a second disconnect on the primary side. This NEMA 3R 30-amp 480V single phase primary disconnect contains two 20-amp time delay fuses and passes 480V single phase to the transformer. The NEMA 3R 7.5KVA transformer converts 480V single phase power to 120/240V single phase and passes the current to the secondary side. The secondary side of the transformer contains a NEMA 3R 50-amp 120/240V single phase main lug only panel. This secondary side contains four 20-amp 1-pole 125V breakers protecting four 20-amp 125V 5-20R GFCI receptacles. Protective Construction: The transformer and load center/distribution assembly is mounted to a standard steel cart style frame resulting in an extremely stable, durable, and mobile power distribution platform. Equipped with a backplate, a center point lift pickeye allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This temporary power distribution solution can be modified to meet the needs of job-site receptacle requirements. Units are available up to 150kva, and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted. Operators can lay the unit parallel to the ground and pass this power distribution system through a 24-inch square man-way. This power distribution system measures 23 inches square by 56 inches tall. Certification: Larson Electronics is a UL 1640 panel shop and certified to build portable power distribution systems. All units are built in accordance to NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and certified to UL 1640. All equipment is NEMA 3R rated for indoor and outdoor use and provide a degree of protection against dirt, water, and ice. NEMA 4 and NEMA 4X equipment can be equipped upon request. Grounding: Transformer is grounded to the frame and we provide a grounding lug on the frame for the earth ground. ~Please check all motor loads for dual rated motors that will work 208 or 240.~ Applications: This power distribution system is ideal for indoor or outdoor use and applications including but not limited to, construction sites, plant maintenance, plant turnarounds, shows, exhibits, and shipyard operations. These power distribution systems are popularly used in applications where external power sources are often necessary. We also offer class rated transformers for use within explosion proof and hazardous location environments.
