Made in Texas The Larson Electronics MGL25-480-12X120-2X250 Temporary Power Distribution System converts 480VAC electrical current into single phase 120/240VAC. This system provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480VAC power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power. *PLEASE NOTE: ANY FREE SHIPPING OFFERS DO NOT APPLY TO POWER DISTRIBUTION PANELS, TRANSFORMERS, OR SUBSTATIONS* Portable Power Distribution Purpose and Use: The MGL25-480-12X120-2X250 portable power distribution system gives operators the ability to power their 240 volt and 120 volt equipment from a single system. On the primary side, operators connect three phase 480V using 50` of #8 Type W cord, with a 460P7W cord cap. On the secondary side, operators may access two L6-30R receptacles for 240V equipment and twelve 5-20R GFCI receptacles for 120V equipment. All receptacles are equipped with weatherproof covers. Operation: A 50` #8 Type W cord with a 60-amp 460P7W 480V cord cap brings 480V three phase power to the NEMA 3R 60-amp 480V three phase primary disconnect, which contains two 60-amp time delay fuses, and passes 480V single phase power to the transformer. The 25KVA NEMA 3R transformer converts 480V to 120/240V single phase 60Hz and passes the current to the secondary side. The secondary side of the transformer is equipped with a NEMA 3R 125-amp 120/240V single phase main lug only panel. This secondary panel contains two 30-amp 2-pole 250V breakers protecting two 30-amp L6-30R 250V receptacles and twelve 20-amp 1-pole 125V breakers protecting twelve 20-amp 5-20R GFCI 125V receptacles. Protective Construction: Unlike many portable power distribution boxes made of plastic and utilizing thin gauge, low grade metals in their construction, this unit is designed for serious use and is ruggedly constructed to withstand demanding conditions and heavy duty industrial applications. The load center is mounted within a NEMA 3R enclosure (optional glass door) for protection against accidental contact, rain, dust, splashing water and sprayed water. The transformer and load center/distribution assembly are mounted to a standard steel cart style frame resulting in an extremely stable, durable, and mobile power distribution platform. Two rubber tires and a cart style mounting platform provides easier substation mobility, and a center point lift eye allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This temporary power distribution solution can be modified to meet the needs of job-site receptacle requirements. Units are available up to 150kva and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted. Certification: Larson Electronics is a UL 1640 panel shop and certified to build portable power distribution systems. All units are built in accordance to NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and certified to UL 1640. All equipment is NEMA 3R rated for indoor and outdoor use and provide a degree of protection against dirt, water, and ice. NEMA 4 and NEMA 4X equipment can be equipped upon request. Grounding: Transformer is grounded to the frame and we provide a grounding lug on the frame for the earth ground. ~Please check all motor loads for dual rated motors that will work 208 or 240.~ Applications: This power distribution system is ideal for indoor or outdoor use and applications including but not limited to, construction sites, plant maintenance, plant turnarounds, shows, exhibits, and shipyard operations. These power distribution systems are popularly used in applications where external power sources are often necessary. We also offer class rated transformers for use within explosion proof and hazardous location environments. Custom Built Systems Available: Larson Electronics is a manufacturer and we can build portable power distribution systems to your specifications.
