This alarm is hardwired with a 9-volt backup battery (included) and is suitable for installation in houses, apartments, dormitory rooms and mobile homes. Fast and easy to install with no wiring required, the SS-2895 features a pull tab to quickly activate the backup battery and a Quick Draw battery drawer for convenient replacement. This alarm features a convenient silencer button to temporarily quiet a non-hazardous alarm and Smart Interconnect to connect up to 18 units. The red LED light flashes when smoke is detected and the green LED light indicates that the power is functioning. This smoke and fire alarm is UL Listed and meets the requirements outlined by the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), approved to exceed industry standards.
