DEPTH SOUNDER (F22025) is a type of SONAR system used in marine navigation to determine the depth of the water or to locate and visualize objects beneath the waves. DEPTH SOUNDER transmits sound wave pulses from a transducer typically located on the bottom of a ship's or boat's hull. The pulses then travel through the water, colliding with submerged objects such as the ocean floor, wrecks, and large schools of fish, before rebounding and returning to the transducer to be analyzed.

The DEPTH SOUNDER (F22025) is simple to use and navigate. To adjust the reading to the desired depth, press and hold the "Up" or "Down" arrow keypads. When the depth sounder reads the shallow depth setting, the "SH" on the LCD will flash and the audible alarm will sound quickly. The DEPTH SOUNDER device measures water temperature, depth, bottom topography, the presence of fish and baitfish, and structures such as weeds, rocks, laydowns, and shelves.

Key Features:

  • It is advantageous for your safety to travel while onboard the vessel.
  • Because the speed of sound in water is known, the time spent traveling will be proportional to the distance traveled.
  • Provides critical information to assist you in reaching your destination and keeping you aware of your surroundings while sailing above the deep sea.
