TRIM GAUGE (F22018) refers to the angle of the propeller shaft relative to the boat. Neutral trim occurs when the vessel is stationary where the shaft is parallel to the surface. The propeller shaft angle is the principal since it directs the engine's power. TRIM GAUGE gives details for the engine's position to the stern of the boat and the trim tabs are appropriately adjusted. Trim levels are critical for preventing propeller damage when traveling in shallow water.
TRIM GAUGE (F22018) is designated to show the outboard motor and outdrive unit's trim and/or tilt angle. The OEM sender takes the outboard motor or outdrives unit and provides the signal to operate the trim level gauge.
TRIM GAUGE (F22018) in testing connects a positive wire to the "I" terminal and a ground wire to the "G" terminal to power the gauge. The pointer will read full UP except for the Johnson/Evinrude and Suzuki 4-Stroke 2002 outboards, which will read full DOWN.
