Made in Texas The Larson Electronics LM-SMDE-24-8-5S-EW-RD-SLHL-AH skid mount electric light tower with articulating mast head provides a safe and effective way for operators to quickly deploy user provided lights, heat lamps, and equipment to elevations up to twenty-five feet. The light tower features a rotating boom that allows for 360¡ of rotation, an articulating mast head providing up to 180¡ degrees of tilt, an electric winch for easy deployment, and is mounted to a cube frame with skid pockets and 4-corner pick eyes for easy transportation. Each assembly is equipped with 50` of 10/3 SOOW cable and terminated in a 30A cord cap. ***PLEASE NOTE: ANY FREE SHIPPING OFFERS DO NOT APPLY TO LIGHT MASTS OR LIGHT TOWERS*** The LM-SMDE-24-8-5S-EW-RD-SLHL-AH five stage telescoping steel light mast with electric winch from Larson Electronics’ is designed to quickly and safely deploy lights, cameras, heat lamps, or other electrical equipment in locations where elevated illumination is needed for maximum area coverage. This light boom can be extended to 25.5` for maximum area coverage and collapsed to 9.25` for applications where a footprint smaller is required. The tower is constructed of square steel tubing with a base section 5.92` in length and 7" by 7" by 1/4" thick, a lower section 6.04` in length and 5" by 5" by 3/16" thick, a middle section 6.19` in length and 4" by 4" by 1/8" thick, an upper section 6.34` in length and 3" by 3" by 1/8" thick, and a top section 6.5` in length and 2" by 2" by 1/8" thick. Each section has a 1` overlap. The mast is elevated using an included 2,500 lbs. electric winch with 3/16" aircraft grade galvanized steel cable. On each side of the mast head is an angle indicator, allowing for precise adjustments of the mast head. The five stage light mast rotates a full 360¡ horizontal rotation within the skid mounted base without the need for special tools. The combined vertical and horizontal adjustment allow operators to direct lights or equipment mounted atop this unit within tight tolerances for precision. The mast head extends 19" above the mast, and is pre-drilled to accept two light fixtures. This adjustable mast head is removable, and can be removed from the mast for storage and transit purposes. Two wiring quick disconnects allows the cables to be removed from the light heads or equipment without rewiring the unit, allowing for fast deployment during installation. The mast and controls are secured within a cube-style frame constructed of 2" by 2" by 1/8" thick and measuring 48" wide by 48" long by 53" tall. Four 4` slide out outriggers with 1,000 lbs. manual crank leveling jacks allow operators to anchor the unit down, providing stability during deployment. Four 8-1/2" by 3-3/8" skid pockets allow this unit to be picked up from all four sides, and four-corner pick eyelets allow for stable deployment via crane operation. This light plant system can withstand winds up to 125+ mph when lowered to 9`, and up to 55 mph when fully extended. When elevated to its full upright position, the mast can be rotated a full 360¡. By loosening the T-Handle, operators can rotate the mast with ease in either direction. The mast itself spins freely with ease, and can typically be rotated with a single hand. The electric winch on this mast is offered in 120V or 240V AC 50/60 HZ. Additional voltage options are available at an additional charge. Larson Electronics can offer single phase and three phase AC winches, or low voltage DC winches. The mast is operated via centrally located NEMA 3R control box with power switches for user provided equipment within the cube frame. The mast is raised and lowed via a hard wired remote pendant with 10` cable, allowing operators to step away from the mast to view the mast head as it extends to the desired height. An internal limit switch prevents the mast from being over extended, which will automatically stop the electric winch once full height has been reached. This has allowed us to remove visual warning indicators for operators to watch for when deploying, which are common among other manufacturers. The control panel provides three operating switches to power the lights or equipment mounted to the top on or off. The electric winch features a quick disconnect with twist-lock connectors, allowing operators to disconnect the winch and prevent operation during service operations and routine maintenance. Click Photo to Enlarge The LM-SMDE-24-8-5S-EW-RD-SLHL-AH operates on 240V AC. Wiring is provided via 50` 10/3 SOOW cable terminated in a 30 amp weatherproof twist lock plug. A quick disconnect via weatherproof twistlock 30-amp L6-30 cord caps allow operators to remove the mast head during transportation and storage. A manual roll up drum mounted within the steel cage frame provides storage for the power cable. The system is grounded via line-in power, mast grounded to skid frame, skid frame grounded to line-in power, and an additional 3/8" grounding lug to accommodate #2 copper grounding wire for frame to earth grounding on-site. This unit will support up to 6,000 watts of lighting and equipment.
