Made in the USA The Larson Electronics MGS-30KVA-6X120-2X240 heavy duty power transformer substation converts 480 VAC three phase electrical current to single phase 120V AC and 240V (208Y) AC. This unit provides operators the ability to safely tap into and distribute 480VAC power from a variety of sources including generators and direct grid power. This model is designed for use for both linear (motor) and non-linear loads (lighting, computers, etc.). For that reason, we deliver 120V and 208Y on the secondary and provide a neutral. *Please note: No free shipping offers apply to power distribution panels, transformers, or substations.* The MGS-30KVA-6X120-2X240 transformer provides a safe and effective way for operators in industrial settings to tap into and utilize power sources independently of the work area. This unit provides an effective power source for operators performing plant turnarounds, maintenance and cleaning in hazardous areas, equipment installations and repairs and any activities requiring an alternative to native power sources. This unit is designed to operate with 480 3P which it then steps down to 120V single phase and 240 (208Y) VAC 3 phase. This transformer makes 120VAC available via 6 GFCI protected 120 V receptacles and 208Y VAC available via two GFCI protected 240VAC outlets. Unlike many portable power distribution boxes made of plastic and utilizing thin gauge, low grade metals in their construction, this unit is designed for serious use and is ruggedly constructed to withstand demanding conditions and heavy duty industrial applications. The transformer and load assembly is mounted on a 3/16" thick carbon steel mounting platform and the load center/distribution assembly is mounted to the standard 2" x 2" x 1/8" square carbon steel tubing frame, resulting in an extremely stable, durable and well protected power distribution platform. This model is equipped with forklift skid pockets, locking polyurethane casters, and a top located lifting eyelet which allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks. This can be replaced for an additional cost with stainless steel, hot dip galvanized steel, or aluminum depending on the customer’s needs. Units are available up to 150kva and can be equipped with skids or trailer mounted. Skid pockets allow this unit to be positioned easily with a forklift.
