This unit contains a 70 watt dual ended metal halide lamp and is capable of illuminating 7,000 square feet of work space with 5,500 lumens of light. The 70 watt metal halide lamp produces illumination equivalent to a typical 400 watt halogen bulb while drawing only 70 watts at .58 amps. The halogen lamp runs cooler than a 400 watt halogen, resulting in an easier to handle unit and less heat in the workspace. This unit`s durability, easy deployment, high power and the good color rendering of its metal halide lamp make it ideal for close work and hazardous areas where safety, detail and accuracy are critical. The non sparking collapsible quadpod weighs only 17 pounds and can be extended to twelve feet and collapsed to 55 inches and includes solid wheels that allow the operator to tilt the unit back and simply roll the entire assembly to a new location when fully deployed. The main mast is 2 inch square aluminum, and the legs are 1.5 inch square aluminum with foot pads that automatically extend into place when the legs are unfolded. Both the shaft and the legs are completely collapsible, making it ideal for applications where portability is ideal. The quadpod can be easily detached from the light aiding in deployment, storage and transport. The quadpod affords operators the ability to quickly and securely elevate this lamp, increasing its effective coverage of the work area. The lamp can be easily adjusted up, down or from side to side and locked into position. The lamp housing is waterproof and constructed of thick copper free aluminum alloy, making it ideal for use in wet and marine environments. The metal halide lamp provides 7,000 square feet of coverage with good color rendering and object contrast. This unit`s lamp assembly includes a 70 watt metal halide bulb, internal ballast and aluminum finish reflector in a copper-free cast aluminum housing with a thermoset powder coat finish. The shell, covers and sealed fittings are also made of copper-free aluminum. The lens is constructed of thermal shock and impact resistant tempered glass and the housing contains threaded joints lubricated with non-drying lubricant. The metal halide lamp in this unit has no filament and is thus highly resistant to damage from shocks or impacts, greatly reducing the chances of damage should the tower be knocked over, unlike incandescent lamps which may break or shatter. The lamp is rated at 10,000+ hours of life providing longer service life than typical halogen lamps. The lamp operates with 120 VAC and is supplied with 100 feet of 16/3 SOOW cord ending in an explosion proof straight blade plug.
